Not picking on any particular brands, though I may call attention to some to show an example. Lying about your product bugs me, but when they claim to be over 15kW things get a bit personal for me. I can't wait for someone to dyno one of these, I'm so tried of hearing numbers like 15k, 20k, 25k thrown around like it's no big deal. I am totally confident that there is only 1 mobile audio amplifier that can play music that makes 15k+ on 13.8V. Unfortunatly in the mobile audio world today, "innocent until proven guilty" doesn't apply. The game has changed, the tape measure is here. You are guilty until provent innocent. Dyno it. Prove it.

So my good friend of 30yrs stops by because he just got his car back from a local shop and it don't sound very good. He want's me to toss my DD-1 on it and clean it up some. So i am like, bring it over. Within 5 minutes, i realized there is nothing i can do for it other then re-do it. It was so bad, i really have a hard time believing a shop did it. Anyway, he just swapped in the 6.0, has some 6 piston Corvette brakes on the way, so this car has potential to be pretty legit......but the system. UHHHGGGG. I stopped the Honda project for a week or two while i square this away for him. Already tore everything out, ordered brand new Rockford Fosgate T3 mids/highs (2 sets) and a new Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3. He already has a Punch 1000.1, Punch 400.2 and Punch 200.2. The bass amp runs 2 P3 15's in a bandpass box with a custom 1/4" plexi window. The mids and high amps were just running all sorts of random speakers. I will re do everything, go fully active using Lows (1000), Midrange (400.2) and tweet (200.2).....the way it should have been. Not gonna say the shops name, but the owner (of the car) is so fucking pissed he ripped out the amp rack right in front of me as soon as he saw the rats nest.....he is LIVID. Here is the car. He paid 5 RACKS to have this installed. Like i said, he was so pissed when he saw the rats nest buried under the rack, he ripped it to shreds right in front of me before i could get pics of it LOL. Moke is not a small guy either. This was buried behind the worst kick panel cover i have ever seen. Forgot to take a pic of it but i will add it later. These by-nines were held in by BUTYL and some silicone sealant. Some of the screw heads werent even in the mounting holes. Picture the head of the screw just hanging on for dear life on the SIDE of the speaker...that's what i found on the driver side. Oh, the new RF mid didn't have a tweet.....wonder where that went.

Let the fun begin. Actually, i don't know what i am going to do yet or when i am going to start. I just know i want to do something big. I think this thing was MADE for a wall, or tunnel, or funnel......or something LOL - just look at the cavern! Its a cargo van too so it should hold some weight. Anyway, its officially mine!

In all fairness to this amplifier, I've never tested one so can't say for sure. Although, basic math would suggest it isn't possible. From their published data: 20kw @ 14.4V with 86% eff. = 20,000 / .86 = 23,255 watts input / 14.4V = 1615 Amps DC. / Three 0 AWG = 538A per 0 AWG. Maybe possible, sounds a little sketchy. But the devil is in the details. That efficency rating is at 4 ohms. At 1 ohm it will be around 65%. They don't mention that. Now doing the same math with real numbers we see that we would need 2136A at 14.4V. This isn't happening on 3 runs of 1/0. It gets better than that Zapco says its current consumption is only 600 amps Don't get me wrong but come on 600 amp draw and producing 14k

lol even if tony wanted to test it hed have to wire 30 batteries in series and an additional 30 in parallel Just trying to a little lol EDIT: Trying to stir the pot a little bit is what I'm getting at. Me+tired+bored at work is not a good mix.

I am in full control, but thanks anyway!
