If you got headphones or a decent system on your PC it will be more apparent in this video Before you bitch about the price. Remember a few things. How much is a TOP OF THE LINE set of mids/highs for your ride? How much is a custom amp (one for each speaker in the box) designed by one of the best engineers to ever design car amplifiers? How much is the automotive grade paint job, the 20 hour Lithium battery? I say load up the most expensive piece of shit you can get at Walmart with D Batteries and turn it on. Walk away from it for 20 hours and see what you have when you come back. Now buy new D batteries every time you go out and figure the cost to replace those things over the course of a year. The battery alone will justify the cost let alone the AMAZING components this thing is made of. This isn't the last video i am making of this. Thank you sir! The choice of Class A/B was based on two things - Sound quality and idle current. These are both suprior on a class a/b amplifier. Advantages of class D amplifer are size and better effiencency under some conditions, not all. Size was not a concern as the size requirement for the woofer airspace was the determining factor there. Efficency was a wash. So Class A/B it is, and it sounds great! Just trying to give Dr. Helmholtz some love and respect

Great product! Props to Tony for developing it. Audio done right; active crossover, subsonic filter, thick enclosure, high quality drivers. I can understand the discussion about the price, but quality costs money. Mass produced injection molded speakers with D-cells may be cheaper, but that's reflected in the sound. Judging by the cycle life claim he is using LiFePO4? Very nice. Is Tony on this forum?, I would like his explanation on the choice for class A/B. That stuff eats away battery while it doesn't sound much better than a well-designed class D. I laughed when I saw: Two 2 inch (51mm) Helmholtz resonators, tuned to 45 Hz In the description Because 'ports' didn't sound fancy enough?

As all of you know the original SMD Tool Map was no longer being update by the OP. I went ahead and transferred all the data from his map and copied them to a new map. The new map is on a different server because it is 100% free. We can also add a logo to the top right corner of the Map. I didn't want to add the SMD logo without permission from someone. I was just thinking that someone should do something like this, but that's why tony is tony because he's ahead of the game. My only concern is that the mids are exposed. Will there be any kind of grills to protect the cone/surround?

Grabbed my sennheiser's to check out the vid and damn that thing does sound good. Would even be great for just using it as a shelf system.

I've had my red Diamondboxx for a few weeks now. Nothing sounds this good that you can pick up and carry with you, nothing. Loud and clear is an understatement. I just wish there was something to protect the drivers, I'd be taking it more places if there was.

Had a friend with tower speakers in the back. I never had anything like that, but I did roll with a boom box powered by D cell batteries for a few months. It played CDs, my car did not. lol

me and a friend from tech school in '98 put my single 12" polk db sub in his hyundai accent for lows, powered by one side of a radio shack amp I cant recall where we appropriated that from, the highs were from 2 15" electrovoice? guitar speakers and 2 piezo electric tweeters. our source was a aiwa walkman with a 3 position EQ slider on the front of it. pretty ghetto but a 12" polk sealed box in a hatch back put out a surprisingly loud sound to us at the time. I've come a long ways from that heh

You know what I did to remedy that problem, I put paper over the speakers lol!! Shit sounded like a Chevy without deadener.
