  1. Got some work done yesterday and today. Yesterday, I ran the RCAs and remote turn on/ SMD meter wires under the center console to the second row, put interior panels back in, seats in, bolted everything that needed it back down (thank goodness for an impact, that makes light work of it). Today I put the 80PRS back in, and the dash back together. I got some grommets in, so I just need to find a good spot to drill a couple holes, run some 1/0, cut some wood and build a new amp/battery rack. Unfortunately, my wire came in but my terminals weren't with them, so I'm trying to get droppinhz to figure that part out... it's been a troublesome order with them. Here are some pics of the interior back together. Don't mind the loose wires, I don't have a place to connect everything to yet. Front seats back in Back seats in Trim back together without any issues Second Skin Speaker Tweakers in the doors. Two each in the front doors, and one in each back door. New single din mount I stumbled across going through someone's BL on diyma. I thought it was kinda cool. You can get a personalized mount for your HU and your vehicle at http://humount.com/ Thanks for looking
  2. http://4xspower.com/shop/accessories/aluminum-hold-downs/598-3100-hold-down/ the xp3000 is a g31 size battery, so that hold down will work.
  3. It'll be another ten days before I drive her and find out. I actually have to do the roof some other time. I realized I didn't have enough material for everything, so I put the headliner up and am saving it for another time when I can grab some more deadener and Lux pro. But tomorrow, I'll put the 80PRS back in and run my RCAs, remote turn on to the TORK2, and wires for the SMD meters, and put the interior trim and seats back in. but hopefully, it's a real quiet ride.... until I put the amps and stuff back in. I threw my door pods out, it's time to get the HATs in there ?
  4. Got the back half of the lux pro and carpet put in. theres a considerable height difference in between the top of the carpet and Base of that ring, probably about 3/4".
  5. Damp pro B-stock and Overkill Pro on the floors. Gonna keep piecing the scraps throughout on the bare spots tomorrow. Three sheets of Luxury Liner Pro cut to size/shape. after that I put the (unfortunately) old carpet back in. So the front half of the floor is done. Tomorrow I'll cut the other three sheets of LLP to shape for the back half and lay the carpet back down. Put the door panels back up with some scraps of CCF/MLV attached after that, and begin to re-run the wires that go under the carpet before I put the seats and trim panels back in. Maybe I'll have it done by the weekend. My leave is up, so I'll only get to work on it in the evenings after work, and it gets dark quick. Thanks for looking
  6. It's good. They really did a good job on making it smokey. It's kind of like standing downwind of a smoker that doesn't have any meats in it yet, except in your mouth
  7. Devil's Backbone Smokehouse Porter: Smoked Porter Ale. Not sure how far DB has gotten out of Virginia. Their Vienna Lager and 8-point IPA are the only two I see year round, the rest of the brews they make seem to be seasonal only.
  8. Thank you. it's definitely a lesson learned to do sound treatment before any other interior modifcations on any vehicles. that's exactly why i took them off, so i could make sure i didn't catch any wires or anything associated with the window motors, and as thick and sturdy as the Damp Pro aluminum is, that shit sure does cut easily. The Q-mat aluminum is so thin and malleable, i don't even think i could cut myself on it if i tried.it doesn't stay rigid like the Damplifier when you pick it up in one hand, it just folds over and droops. I'm glad i applied it thick when i put it on the doors.
  9. Wife said I need to get the stuff out of the dining room so yesterday, I spent the day cutting and laying deadener on the floor. I let the beast warm up for a bit and the heat cranked all of the way up to heat the inside up. Wore gloves till I started on the doors. Should have kept the gloves on. Sliced the back side of a finger. Oh well, lesson learned. It sure was hot in there; I was dripping sweat all over the place. My initial thought of the Second Skin B-stock 40-pounder: it smells very strongly of cats, it weighs more than the SoundQubed Q-mat, but isn't as thick as the Q-mat. Q-mat has more butyl, but Damplifier has much thicker aluminum, which I feel is more important because it will be more rigid than the Q-mat. No, I didn't remove the Q-mat I already have on the doors. I left it and added some damplifier. The floor took a huge chunk of my 40-pounder out, plus the little I added to the doors. That left me with 6 or so sheets left. I took them inside and applied it to the underside of my dash. Today, I spent the last two or three hours crawling around the floor of the Tahoe glueing down Overkill Pro and applying to the inside of the doors. I've only got a few scraps left, which I will likely piece randomly on the underside of my dash. It's not "pretty" or neat or anything like that in there. I cut it how I saw fit in order to reapply the interior that I put out. I'll take a picture once I come down from the glue fumes high I'm on, even with the doors open. Definitely should have worn gloves and long sleeves for glueing the Overkill Pro to the doors. The doors have a double layer on top and bottom of the crossmember that is in the middle of the inner door, and there's a single layer across the floor. I have six sheets of Luxury Liner Pro that I will cut to the shape of the carpet/jute mat (should have thought of that with the Damp pro and Overkill as well for simplicity) to include every bolt/hole that is required. I only hope that everything I put back in still fits after having nearly an extra inch of matting on the floor. Ill get a few pictures of what I got going on on the inside soon.
  10. That's the limit for attachments I think. If you click "insert other media" and add via URL, it should work better, and not give you a size limitation.
  11. Thanks! I know the wiring stuffed in the dash looks really bad, but it's what I had run into the doors/under the carpet, so I needed a place to put it out of the way of the floor so I could lay the deadener.
  12. Has anyone else gotten Second Skin damplifier 40 pounders that smelled very strongly of cats once they opened it? Or was there just something special about mine?

Oh no, not like cat piss. Haha that would be even worse. Just the scent of a cat

  13. Done for the day. Some of the floor padding was wet on the passenger side under the dash, so I gotta find where that's coming from. Tomorrow, I'll do some vacuuming and cleanup with acetone. Didn't take the doors or ceiling down, so I'll do that tomorrow too.
  14. Second row captains seats came in. unfortunately, no plastic trim or covers on the rear, but I think I can order that stuff from GM parts direct or something. Leather shows a little age but that's fine. Couple of scuffs. Comfy. And at the moment, I'm stuffing all of the stuff I bring out of the Tahoe into that corner to the top left of the photo. We don't use the dining room table anyways.
  15. Well, I decided I didn't want to wait until it gets warmer to tear it apart. It's gonna kill me to drive it torn apart, but oh well. I'm tearing it apart so I can get her all cleaned up. I'll reinstall the drivers seat for driving purposes of course. Just a little bit more to go. Time to tackle that center console after a little lunch. Once that's done, the ceiling and door panels will be next, then I think I'll go ahead and take the dash apart some. Tomorrow I'll vacuum and wipe it down, and then we wait for a warmer day to make applying the deadener a little easier
  16. Thanks! I'm also working on finding/buying a house so the wife and I can get out of the apartment, so we'll see if she lets me play with my toys this year only thing I'm for sure going to do soon is the deadening process. I've got around $1000 of Second Skin products waiting to be installed. All fabrication is on hold until we move I think. Maybe some small stuff here and there.... my door pods are looking a little on the rough side
  17. Shit I've done since I came home: nothing to do with audio. I swapped out the cheap eBay blue interior LEDS that didn't work half of the time with some clear white LEDs from superbrightleds.com. I installed the secondary battery tray, and am now waiting on some 1/0 and battery terminals to ship. When I bought the Tahoe, the previous owner said they "removed the fog light housings because the lights didn't work so it wouldn't pass inspection." The housings weren't given to me, so I bought some TYC housings off of rock auto. Yesterday I installed them, after digging through my toolboxes for some extra mounting hardware because that was gone too. I plugged the lights in to test them out, and they work fine. Previous owner was an idiot and didn't know how to turn them on or change the bulb or something. I do want to change the bulbs out though to something a little brighter/whiter, because they're really dim and....rose gold colored? I cleaned all of the extra speaker and primary wire out of my second row, the trash, tools, drill, etc.... it was messy back there. Now I'm going to clean up my storage/tool "shed" and make room to store the 60/40 bench once the second row captains get here. I'll recondition my batteries with the CTEK 7002 while I'm doing that. They probably need it. i wanted to install all of my deadener before my leave ends, but I'll just wait till it's warmer and easier to install. Until next time.
  18. I'm not sure there's a way. But when you hit a post like that, just write down the info for it and save it for when you do have time to read/watch it
  19. Got my XS Power XP3000. Two day shipping!! Even though I screwed up the address I gave him, he figured it out and got it out to me. Good guy, great buy Thanks again @THEKINGsBACK
  20. Did you clamp the current from the lithium to the amp(s)? The alt may only be outputting 85 because it only needs to make 85....
  21. I run -10dB on mine. Every song is different though. Just keep your nose on point for the problem signs.
