  1. Big thanks to @basketball_00011 for the solution... Try the link below to see all the photobucket pictures throughout the forum (or other websites): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-hotlink-fix/kegnjbncdcliihbemealioapbifiaedg?hl=en If that doesnt work, google "Photobucket hotlink fix google chrome".
  2. You're gonna have impedance rise so you'll likely be 0.7ohm or higher under load. It doesnt make much more power under 1 ohm, but you'll certainly be using more of what you already paid for. We are running this amp in my buddy's JK at 1/2ohm with a 250A alt and (2) D3400s with a 4th order. Totally happy with it. Definitely boost up your reserve though.
  3. Just swap the wires and try it out. Watch your voltage. If you dip in the 11s then increase your reserve or alternator. You'll be surprised what your system will do wired down. If you get stinky coils too fast or voltage drop, then pursue another option. This option is a 'free trial'.
  4. I'd wire that 3.5K to 1/2ohm on the (2) 12s. Watch your voltage closely and enjoy.
  5. If im drinking vodka, i prefer Finlandia. Made from 6 row barley, you can taste a bit of grainy earthiness on the back. Real smooth. Drank neat of course.
  6. Great read. Its more than a manual for an amp, it also has tons of great info for installs, in general.

  7. mine distorted before signal was caught and would randomly turn off. Tony took care of me though.

  9. MSG Equipment, like Ramen? Or maybe Chinese Takeout? Gotta be cautious about your MSG intake, man.
  10. Thanks for the input man. I was watching Barevids (Sam) on YT and he mentioned that some Brazilian amps dont have output inductors as filters (probably for cost down). The justification from Taramps was that "the subwoofer is a large inductor" and that it would filter out high frequency noise in the same manner that an inductor in the amp would filter out noise. Makes sense, but sucks that the subs would have to dissipate that heat and noise. For others reading, not all Taramps amps omit the output filter inductor... some do have them.
  11. Why doesnt the DD-1 work with Taramps? Is the THD too high or something?
  12. Chatter, like me making guesses as to what Steve is gonna do. Not clutter, buddy. ?
  13. This is just forum chatter. Im sure Steve knows what he's doing.
  14. Or perhaps just using the AMM-1... and connect it to the DGAF Turdcel... Just guessing of course.
  15. Houston’s oldest independent craft brewery, Saint Arnold. This is their Divine Reserve 18, an Imperial Stout that could be mistaken for motor oil haha. Had one last wk and another last night while i swapped a crankshaft position sensor. 13.4% abv.
  16. Was looking for more than a guess. After contacting them, it turns out idle amps are the same with the 320 and 370. Big ups to Richard at Mechman for all the help!
  17. What are yall looking forward to this wkend? Certainly yall have cool shit going on.

Just hoping my team can play as good as they did against Minnesota or better. My boss is pretty cool about it too, hes a sports fan and told us if anyones team makes it to the superbowl he’ll give them off. So im set, just figuring out if or how much i wanna bet on’em.

  18. Redoing rear disc conversion. ZZP sent me a new rear caliper. Last time, the right rear caliper kept locking up. I could manually push/screw it in, but i'd go drive and it would lock up.

Ive read about colapsed lines, but this car only has 38kmi on it. I guess we'll find out in couple hours

if the drums operate as they should with no other changes other than swapping to a caliper and bleeding... its definitely a fault in the caliper.  a bad piston seal would lead to a visible leak.  it may be a minute possibility, but it's possible that the flow port where the brake fluid enters on the caliper could be slightly over bored and overwhelming that piston with a higher pressure of fluid.  just a thought tho.  hope the new one works just fine!

New setup is working great. 4 wheel disc :)

  19. Every vendor in this industry takes about a week or so to respond. The ones that actually DO respond, and furthermore, offer help... are few and far between. XS is one of those awesome ones.
  20. XS Power is fkn awesome. 16 month old charger making 'clipping' noise during float... I offered to pay for repair, they are doing a replacement. Great customer service!
  21. Keep in mind your PCM controlled alt will stop charging occasionally so your cap bank will discharge just like a battery will. If you dont mind having the battery-light on, then you can get a 'single wire' regulator on your alt so that you charge at 14.2-15V (depending on temperature) all the time. Or you can unplug your battery current sensor and charge at 13.8V all the time. You wont get a battery light in this case. I would add battery if you leave your alt alone, but thats just my opinion from my experience dealing with a PCM controlled alt with (2) AA5Ks at 0.35ohm.
  22. Regulator died in my large case, been audio-less for over a month now.  Soldering new regulator today and putting the large case back in.  Werk werk werk

At least you have a spare alt. now ?  (SOTM joke)

In all seriousness, I was hoping it would ship fast so I could drop it in, but theyre a bit backlogged.

I just asked Mechman to modify my order for a 1-wire alt so I can maintain voltage above 14V.  I found out (via testing) that the battery light is not tied to the OBD system, so I should still be able to get state inspection.

And when the 320A hairpin arrives in a couple weeks, it will be swapped in B)

Found out the 2-pin-plug wires that connect to the alt regulator had been pulled out of their connector potting.  GM didnt put a stress cone on those leads.

Running the alt self-exciting (13.5-13.8V) right now with no problems.  A simple goddamn 18ga wire ruined 2 regulators.  The intermittent connection was signaling the regs on and off, quickly frying them.

  23. Recently I noticed (while charging AGM XS batteries) that my PSC60 makes a chirping/buzzing sound when its in Float Charge mode (13.5V). It sounds kinda like what an amp sounds like when its clipping. I dont recall this noise in the past. Its sounds bad enough that I dont want to leave it on overnight in charge or recovery mode. Cant get a response from XS Power on the matter. Any input? Are your chargers rather quiet? I'll get a video tonight when I get into the garage.
  24. Steve, I cant tell for sure, but does your alt have a 2 pin regulator? I figure all the new ones have the Regulated Voltage Control setup. Im wondering how the caps like the voltage swings, if you have any.
