Kinetics have an issue with swelling, new, used, overcharged, or even from heat if you use them in your engine bay.
They swell, and thats why its always wise to do your research on products before you buy.
Its very common for Kentiks because the case is not reinforced as much as some of the other battery manufactures batteries.
The box looks new, as well as the battery, and it looks like the box shows no sign of being dropped or any other damage from shipping.
Nor did you provide any evidence of foul play from UPS.
Im sure the battery operates just fine, and has a normal resting voltage.

But like I said, I see no signs of this issue being Sonics fault or even the shipping company since it is a COMMON and KNOWN issue with Kinetik.
