  1. Am I the only one that gets that itch to breathe in some MDF dust?

  2. Backed right into a concrete pole yesterday in a parking lot when I went out of town to see my brother. I need a new back hatch and bumper.....wonder what this is going to run me. Of course all this happens the day after I install a level 6....

Being how I don't use my truck at all anymore and I've moved to home audio while living in a dorm, I haven't had bass in quite a few months.

      slamingsuburban

its easy to put in if you have a right angle drill and good luck

  6. DC Power shipped out my new alt in less than 2 weeks. When I got my dual setup last year it didn't take too long either. I've heard stories of them taking forever but haven't experienced that in the times I've dealt with them.

And don't get me wrong they have a great product and I was never anything but happy with there alt.

I'd rather give my money to someone that supports and participates in the hobby though.

And I also like to deal with people that will keep hood care of me after I buy from them. I'm just saying that there isn't a logical reason to prioritize their small orders.

      Good not hood lol.

  7. Dumb Question of the day: Does RCA voltage split when using Y splitters? Let's say you have an RCA ran to the back from 4v pre out and two Y splitters at the end.

If it has an intake, tuner, and bald rears, get away from it.

  10. Got everything done on my box except putting the baffle on top. Then, I found out I made a really stupid mistake...My box is double layered 3/4" MDF all the way around and I put my inner port piece in wrong. My port width is now 3/4" short. My box is probably ruined, but how much will the smaller port area affect tuning, etc.? Will I have a lot of port noise too?

    1. BLuejoules

      BLuejoules

Tuning would be just slightly lower with less port area. You only made a tiny mistake lol, box is far from ruined

  15. I don't understand what the XS Power VCM does. It just magically raises voltage with a button? Where can I read about this?

    1. Kyblack76

      Kyblack76

  18. I need to place my order with US composities. I just don't know if I should get more than a gallon of the 435 resin for sealing off my wall with the 1.5 mat. Any advice guys?

A little of this stuff goes a long way. Much easier to work with than the Bondo or 3m stuff. I switched on my last build and I'm a believer. Depends on how much you're doing, but unless you're getting super crazy, a gallon should do you. I did my trunk lid, spare well, 2 doors, and I still have about a quarter or more left in the gallon I got.

True, best doors I have ever heard that were VERY loud and had amazing mid bass, clarity, etc. were beyma.

McLaren is based out of here in FL. Hell, one of my closest friends here has 14 of their 6.5s. For the price, they aren't easy to beat... while still retaining quality.

      zack_e89

^^Thanks hunter. Really considering them. I'm a noob when it comes to...well loud doors lol. I have a friend to help me do some awesome doors I just need to pick some equipment. I've got the $$$ and heard the McLarens at slamology last year and was impressed.
