Short for condominium, which is pretty much 1 large luxury or higher end building owned by 1 person, but has a lot of apartments that are each owned by another person such as the family that lives in said apartment.

So its like a small apartment building? or is the condo the actual apartment

Take a big skyscraper for example, they usually have apartments in them, those apartments are called "condos".

Its pretty much just an apartment, sometimes rather large, sometimes small, it really depends on what and where you buy.

You typically have access to a gym or fitness room, pool, parking structure, etc that is all included in your building and you pay HOA (home owner association) fees that also go towards upkeep of the property, lawn care, maintenance, etc.

Normally you never buy an apartment in a building you rent or lease it on a month to month or year to year basis. A condo is just the opposite its an apartment that you buy in a building.

Really it just reminds me of a snobby way to apartment. lol
