if brand X has an amp that has 1200 watts on the box but in reality it only does 298.......but is only $39 bucks, that is a GREAT deal for $39 bucks! Why wouldn't brand X just save some dignity and call it a 300 watt amp if it's still a great deal? An amp doesn't need to do twice the rated RMS to get my respect. It just needs to do what it claims. That's it. Seems like a reasonable request right?

I used it to get a base charge on them then used my big red xs charger to bring them up to 12-13 volts.

Question of the day. If a cheap amp says "X Amount" of watts in big bold letters on the box but really does far less than that....but is still "good power for the money", is it ok with you? In other words, is it ok that the manufacturer exaggerated the numbers (lied to you) to get you to buy the product as long as it was a good deal in the long run?

Yeah fine my me. Like the hifonics BRZ series. Really liked the previous generation for that reason. Decent power for the money and wont sent someone new to the game into sticker shock. I've always wondered how many fights the engineers and the marketing team get into behind the scenes over this sort of stuff

If actual watts per dollar are good then I would try it. But I am still a die hard Rockford fanatic

my take is, if you think $75 bucks on a 2000 watt amp that does 488 in reality on it's BEST day, then more power to you. If you go into it knowing that you are only getting that amount of power but it fits your budget, then go for it! But will you trust that company later in life when you have a bigger budget and more options? a little extra power than rated is a bonus. a lot less that rated is a rip off. Just my opinion really.

Curiosity got me I got to try some to see if they are as good as I heard they are! Also ordered some White Sky High Car Audio 1/0 & 4awg wire Got a few more things in the works right now but don't want to talk about it yet until it's done!

You could try sending a message to AMI customs (owner of the black nasty), he has a maxwell cap bank, and snow drifter I believe built one. I can't recall anyone else on the forum who does though.

Not really a trade in program put in place. They are set amperage units, so there are 15amp, 30amp, and 60amp units. If you are only going to use it as a power supply, then you would look at the amperage draw your electrical system would be pulling with the car off at a car/trade show. If you are going to use it as a charger, then go as big as you can afford if you have a bank of more than 3 batteries. If you have a bank of batteries then you can basically take the amperage output available and divide it by the number of batteries. That will give you the basic amperage each battery is going to see during charging, so if you have 6 batteries and the 60amp IntelliSupply then each battery would see around 10amps each. If you had the 1005 charger and a bank of 6 batteries then each battery would only see around 4amps. Optimal charge rate is around 15amps per battery.
