  3. i popped the 25 amp fuses during the first certified test. only had 30a on hand. I know it aint the RIGHT thing to do but i took a chance anyway. Tortured it for about 30 minutes straight and the fuses didn't blow again. Amp held up fine.

  5. Here is the actual troll video haha!! (reposted here and at the top of the thread) hey it took me FOREVER to do the sub titles so bear with it! I know you can pretty clearly hear us in most cases (with phone in my pocket) but i did the subtitles anyway so you had something to look at while listening instead of my pocket liner haha!

  7. Not only did I have 2 house speaker 12" s in a tracker, when my radio stopped working I would hook up a boombox to the interior light. The only problem was, playing cassette tapes. It would play fast and sound like Alvin and the chipmunks was playing.

  8. Ok guys, i have been wanting to do this for a while but haven't had the chance. I have been itching lately for some more amp testing so i decided to go to the local flea market here in town for some subjects. I didn't want to give away my intentions so i went under cover (LOL). I get recognized a LOT, especially if the owner of the "booth" actually owns a shop. So i had to kinda lay low and hope they didn't know me. One of the 3 booths, towards the end the guy smirks and i ask him if he knows my face. He says yes. I was like damn, my cover is blown......but then he proceeds to tell me i should use at least 4 gauge wire on the amp i just purchased from him...and not 8 gauge. You would think if he knew who i was, he wouldn't need to explain that LOL. But anyhow, my first amp purchase was from him and it was a Gravity 1500.1. I actually had my girl ask about it before i said a word. He had the right answers.....seemed very honest. No offense to those who run it, but from what i know, Gravity is just a medium quality brand at best. It was in the past anyway. Nothing bad to say but nothing great to say either. But you know what, it was a good deal, the book says "500x1 RMS" in black and white letters. So i got it. We spent the next few hours looking at all the crap (i say that in a good way) that all swap meets have. There only seemed to be about 3 stereo booths. Back in the day there was no less then 10. I hit up all 3. Talked to some kid who didn't know shit in one booth, one guy in another who seemed honest but just a little ignorant about a few things...but a decent guy none the less. I never hold this against the owners of the booths. They don't generally know the MANUFACTURER'S are ripping us off. They just know it says XXXX watts on the box and that is what it is....So i'm NOT mad at them. But after hearing him out on a few items, i decided on a Phoenix gold 500x1 amp he had on the table. Looked like it had been sun beat (the box) and been there a while. Yes, i know PG is a decent brand (or was...i dunno anymore), but being at the flea market, for all i know, it could be a boot leg LOL. So the 2 amps i ended up leaving with were a Gravity 1500.1d (500rms) and a PG RX 500x1 (500rms). I am going to do this again soon and get some WAY shittier, no name amps next time. Here we go...who thinks these amps will do their power? This week, i will do the Gravity. The person who guesses the exact number will get the amp! I will sign it with it's exact dyno number results written on the bottom plate GOOD OR BAD! Amplifier: Gravity 1500.1d Owners Manual claims 500x1 RMS at 1ohm Tested with: SMD D'Amore Engineering AD-1 Amp Dyno (official numbers) SMD D'Amore Engineering AMM-1 with hand held amp dyno Power Supply used for testing: 6 XS Power D1400 14v Batteries 1 XS Power HF1415 15a Charger (not a power supply) There are 3 test modes used. ONLY the AD-1 Numbers count (although the AMM-1 is +/- 1w anyway.) Add these 3 results together and post the final number as your guess. Certified mode (test stops at 1% distortion) - x,xx Watts RMS Non-Certified mode (test stops at clipping) - x,xx Watts RMS Dynamic Burst RMS (test stops at clipping) - x,xx Watts RMS You get ONE guess. Post it and that will be your entry into this contest. Simple! You MAY edit/change your number up until about an hour before i post results. I WILL go through each and every post before i upload the video so if you try to change your guess afterwards, i will know. So don't try it. Just make a guess and wait. If NOBODY guesses the number, i will slap it on Ebay, hope i get my money back, and use that money towards more flea market amps to test in the future. So good luck with it! I will upload results on Tuesday! The following week, we will do the flea market PG amp. I also have the Rockford Fosgate T500.1bd to test as well. So lets see those guesses!

  9. Well.... Today is Monday... And I believe that since he pays out of pocket for the amps he tests, it's not beneficial to do it every week. The easiest way would be for people to contact him and set up a shipping method (at owners own risk of shipping mishaps and hoping they buy enough insurance to cover it) and then they can see what their amplifier really does when correctly tuned. I believe he's said something along those lines before in a previous video/thread when asked why amp test Tuesday had stopped
