  1. No. Not stinger. Singer. www.singeralternators.com And make sure you contact someone with an inquiry from the other two companies as well. The best three in the business.
  2. It's not going to hurt to mix the batteries unless it's a vehicle that sits for days at a time. It's recommended to get either the D or S series equivalent of your stock battery though. Better life and performance. You don't need a HO alt but it may help. Those amps love to gulp down the current from what has been said by most members here. So the more current your alt can supply, the more efficient an inefficient amp becomes (in a sense). I say jump on that 240A if you can. Have you checked with singer alternators, mechman, and DC power inc? Actually emailed/talked to them and not just looked at their website? Not everything is always listed.
  3. Thought I'd take a quick video on my way home tonight. One day I'll find a good spot to park and get a full video tour.
  4. 120k miles on the Tahoe today. Plan on getting a tune-up (new plugs & wires, filters/fluids) anything else I should make sure gets looked at/changed out? My brother in-law works at a shop down the road so I usually just pay for the cost of parts and he'll knock it out.

Yeah alignments will be done. I do that with every oil change.

you get an alignment every oil change? o_o

      Yes. Personal preference.

  5. Busted my ass for two weeks doing another work centers job for them, stayed late, came in on the weekends instead of being home with the wife, getting the ship ready for a certification assessment, don't get shit. Someone else spends a day with them for one thing, they get a letter of commendation from the CO. Hooyah go navy -__-

seems like a lot of that going on. The retard ball munchers, are getting promoted, and the none ass kissing workers that keep the plant running, are getting shit on. Still,... the reason i dont sleep well at night, has nothing to do with my work ethic..... nothing.

ass kissers.. something i will never do.. ive talk shit to owners and managers and never got fired for it

I don't kiss ass either. I'm there to work and my work ethic, knowledge, and capabilities should be the only judgement factors. I work hard to stand out, get better evals, which will help me on the advancement exams. I just thought it was bullshit that what I did was praised and even had the entire chain of command up to the CO asking me about my progress and I didn't get anything but a good job from my LPO for doing something that isn't even in my field. End rant. Ugh.

  6. That little error message up at the top keeps happening. It appears, the page refreshes, and sometimes a few minutes go by before it does it again, sometimes a few days, sometimes a couple seconds. Only on this site, no other sites that I browse frequently. iPhone 6+ iOS 8.4 (12H143) Happens mostly on WiFi but sometimes on LTE. Anyone else have this issue?
  7. You might get a quicker response if you emailed their sales-team directly. Should be listed under "contact us" on their site
  8. You will need a longer bolt than the one that came with the battery if you're going to put those terminals on there. I want to say I bought M8 or M9. You can get them from any hardware store.
  9. Decided to wrap the door pods after the wife left for school. I used the 4-D Carbon fiber adhesive backed vinyl I had previously bought for the previous set of door pods. I grabbed my heat gun, pulled off the backing of the vinyl, and went to work. You can see that damn cigarette burn in my seat from yesterday > so pissed!! The seats/carpet and rest of the interior were in damn near perfect condition other than needing a good vacuuming. I'm satisfied. Much easier to stretch over the edges and corners when that heat gun is aimed at it, but I need a third hand to make it easier.
  10. It says on the previous page $2,495 USD. As for HP, don't know. Probably as much as a quad alt setup or more.
  11. It's on as "as ordered" production basis. Meaning it isn't built unless someone orders it. No mass production due to the fact that very few people can/would be able to use it
  12. So on my way home today, some fucking asshole on the interstate decided to flick their fucking cigarette into my passenger window and I didn't realize it. I got home and now there's a fucking hole/burn in my passenger seat. But anyways, onto better news. The Tahoe is officially debadged! Minus the emblem on the grill of course. Side panels on the doors (is there a specific name for them?) Passenger side off All tape and adhesive removed Pulled off the name tags. Three "hoes" and a Chevy later Next appearance item should be the roof racks. Not really sure what to do with them when I take them off though. I guess take them to the local landfill. Anyone need some 03 Tahoe roof racks and two third row seats?
  13. I thought I would share the process of me debadging/destriping the body of the Tahoe. Wheel-well trim Wheel-well trim removed, I used a card to peel that adhesive off Found this little guy chillin while I was doing the front passenger side Bye-bye Then I started on the stripes just below the windows Two drill batteries dead by the time I got this far on the first side All "erased" Took it to the car wash after to wash all of the eraser dust off and it needed a wash anyways. Tomorrow I plan on starting the black with chrome trim on the doors. After that will be the Chevrolet and Tahoe badges on the fenders and hatch. At some point I'll take off the roof racks
  14. Bully: Scholarship Edition for $3.74 on the 360 and LA Noir for $7? Don't mind if I do.

Bully is a killer game. starting a playthrough again here soon

  15. I think it's about to be time to buy a damn corded drill. Got the wheel-well trim adhesive off and halfway up the drivers side stripes on two batteries. Hard wired 115 ain't gonna run out of juice any time soon...

    1. boom50cal

      boom50cal

the cheapo porter cable corded drills are pretty nice for the price.. half of that of a dewalt.

Yeah, I like porter cable. There's a few brands I enjoy SO much more than black & decker. But you dont turn away gifts.... I plan to do some browsing this week to help with my choice.

  16. so if im at 12.8 and the amp pull just as a hypothetical example 100 amps im getting 1280 watts, but if i have 14 volts and pull 100 amps im getting 1400 watts. How does voltage mean jack shit if thats the case? Because your amp is going to pull the amperage it needs as long as it has the support from the alternator, and the alternator only produces the amperage that is required by it at that time. You can ride it out at 13v all day long as you can generate the amperage. Lower voltage is going to need more amperage to produce the same output as higher voltage. You have a 270A alternator. What size amplifier(s) are you running? And you listen to music, not just use it for tones and metering correct? Unless you're running 4kW+ and have found the key to avoid impedance rise due to change in air pressure and temperature and frequency and everything else that affects it, you won't ever max that 270A @ 1800rpm alt out. You're worrying about voltage too much and not paying attention to what the amp actually uses to produce output. Why do you think we choose alts by how much amperage they put out and not what voltage they charge at? For ease of your mind, get an external regulator and set it to 14.2. Better charging voltage for the batteries than charging higher than 14.4.
  17. As long as your supply of current exceeds the amount of current demanded, voltage means jack shit.
  18. Just because you're not charging or holding 14.4vdc doesn't mean you're not getting every bit of what you can out of it IF you have the CURRENT to feed it. Don't worry about voltage. Worry about the current your alt outputs. Put a clamp meter on it and watch the current go up even if your voltage is going down
  19. So the other night my cousin opened my glove box.... We found this.. iPhone 5 I got in 2013 sometime. I got the 6+ in March of this year and the 5 is just my music source hooked up to the 80prs. I leave it in the glovebox and have only taken it out a few times to update some new music. I guess it lives a violent life of vibration in the glove box in order for the screen to come off like that.
  20. Because for the last 7 years or so, EVERY car has become "fuel efficient", which means the car says "the battery is fully charged, I don't need you anymore" to the alternator, so it doesn't the alt doesn't charge again until it's told to do so.
  21. Haha I doubt it. Yours should be a little easier than mine. The fucking dash almost rubs against mine. not really sure how to avoid that
  22. Two subwoofers of the same brand/model/size, one is in too small of a ported box tuned to 40hz, one is in the correct size ported box tuned to 35hz. T/S parameters change as you break subs in. Those two subs are broken in in different enclosures, so the T/S parameters will be different?

The Dayton dats is only $100.

The Im-sg can do it as well and there would be a few other benefits to owning one of those.

Or a umik and rew. I think it can do t/s parameters. The dats system is like 30more but worth it IMHO.
