  1. When was the last time you put a new battery in? 9v batteries suck for shelf life. No matter what brand or technology or whatever the hell else they advertise on the "long lasting" batteries
  2. Gotta remember to start putting on the gloves I bought months ago when I fiberglass... Sticky fingers, everything sticks to me

      Acetone takes it right off.

Yeah I know. But it's a waste of it if I have to use it for my hands more than my rollers. I just never remember the gloves.

  3. So, waiting to finish the pods until SoundQubed stocks their PA speakers again, they said it should only be a couple weeks yesterday. Shipping the AQ 90x4 for some love from SoundQubed. The gain pots seem loose, and when on the DD-1 I back it down from distorted and pull the tweaker and it lights back up until I give it a side to side wiggle. Edit: also, I know it's gotta be that being loose because on sometimes the vibration from the subs causes one channel to distort. Give the pot a little jiggle a fit clears up. 30ft of bubble wrap later.... All taped up and ready to go out tomorrow
  4. People that run active with supertweets, do you just leave that capacitor on there and say "thats where my mid/high crossover point will be"? or do you unsolder/take it off? never knew those were on there until i saw it in someones thread.

Cool. Good info to know. Thank you.

I had them on my aq/sq supertweets. One of the connections broke off, so I just crossed them over on the amp at 4.5k

if your running active, that means your not running a passive cut off..

  5. 6 hours on watch with a ballistic vest on, sunny 90 degrees, sweating my ass off. I get relieved, clouds come out, and it starts raining. Fml.

feel your pain. i worked an airshow today at my base and people kept telling me "enjoy your weekend".

  6. Anyone besides me still playing the first(best) gears of war on the 360?

  7. Got new tires on the Tahoe, thinking about taking off the door moldings. One looks funny anyways from the clear tape or whatever peeling

  8. Either I don't watch enough TV, or Nicholas Cages movies have gotten so bad that there aren't any previews for them and they go straight to netflix without theater presentation.

  9. What's a good way to start your day? Not pulling into work with a flat, that's for sure.

I just spent $480 on two new tires and an alignment. It could be worse you know.

It could be. I almost told the guy to put me down for four new ones and he quoted me $550 and I cringed because that would mean less audio money. So I'll just stick with $150 for one, the other three are still in good shape, plenty of tread

  10. I doubt that audiopipe is any better than the pyramid. About 25 cents per a watt is a good place to start in my book (not always). Take the rated rms power of that amp, multiply by .25, and if the price is $75 or less below that then it's definitely a waste of money. Just my opinion and way of looking at things. Doesn't necessarily speak for the actual quality. But usually things that work better cost more
  11. Advantages: more current flow for the extra current draw that adding an after market sound system requires from alternator/battery
  12. My first amp ever was a shitty pyramid amp similar to yours, and my recommendation, get your money back and buy a real amp. As for big three, yes, when you add equipment that draws more amperage than what was intended, you should upgrade power and grounds
  13. Have you tried sending a pm to one of them? N8, audio fanatics, or smoke, etc...
  14. I think he just means the doors (4) and then the sub (1), leaving the dash miss/tweets on the HU. Get a five channel.
  15. Only sounds crazy if those are all stock speakers not rated for that power. In which case, buy some replacements that are.
  16. You could probably get away with a D4700 under the hood. It's about an inch taller than what he posted from oreillys, but the other specs are good, and an inch more in height wouldn't be an issue, but to be sure you should try find like a 3inch block of wood or something else small that's around 3-4 inches, and set it on your current battery, to make sure you have the clearance for the extra height and the posts/terminals.
  17. What do you do when your only cutting wheel for your dremel breaks and you're too lazy to go back to Home Depot? Use the sanding wheel attachment it's messy but it works
  18. Dremel problems... Not enough battery life. My only cutting disc broke and I already went to Home Depot once today.

yea really I have as much luck with a drill and the dremel bits then I did with a dremel

I'll have to look into the sonicrafter. Thanks Aculous, I'm making it work with 10-15 minute charge times and the sanding wheel attachment. It's messy, but it's getting the job done.

Shit I didn't even think about throwing it on my drill. That ain't a half bad idea. I'll grab some more cutting wheels tomorrow on my way home from work though. Not sure if I'll finish up cutting the excess fiberglass off tonight. The wife is home and I was on duty yesterday so I gotta spend some time with her before I catch some sleep

  19. I would say it depends on your available space for the enclosure. Take measurements of the dimensions you want for the box and post back. Someone else who has more experience in that area would be of more help than myself, but I'll give it a shot.
  20. Dremel battery died on me as soon as I started cutting the fiberglass down :,(

i have one of the cordless dremels wish i had a corded one. they seem to die way to fast and bog down to easy

    2. reedal

      reedal

Yeah. I love having the cordless because I can take it anywhere and use it, but that battery sucks for the most part. One day I'll have a little work shop with all corded tools, and then I'll have all my cordless twins when I need them too. Haha dreams right?

  21. DO NOT use Duck brand painters tape. Good thing I have acetone to scrub that shit off with
  22. So today I decided to start to make some door pods to put in the factory location. Only started the passenger side for now. Didn't use enough hardener though. So hopefully tomorrow it'll be nice and hard My canvas All taped up (neither 3M nor Duck brand painters tapes work for shit on door panels btw) And a couple layers of glass and resin later Tried my damnedest to get rid of all the air bubbles, but hopefully it won't effect it too much since that's the side that will be against the panel. Looks better than the last time I tried glassing some tweeter pods. Tomorrow I'll start on the drivers side door and get to work on this one while the drivers side is drying. With a little more hardener that is.
  23. Today's the day, TDH in Petersburg, VA. First show ever for me, gonna be a blast.

  24. July 2014 Virginia Beach, Virginia Not been a member that long, but I've learned a hell of a lot since I joined. Although ignorance is bliss though, because I was happier spending less money on this before I joined but it's worth it.
