  1. build is looking good, get some videos of this beast in work
  2. still tight on time, wish i had a whole week off so i can get this done all in one week, but the only time killer at the moment is putting up the laminate on the box. My basement is sitting at 60 with no heat, so kind of hard for the contact cement to dry faster which it takes about 72 hours for full effectiveness. Anyways progress since the weekend only little by little so far, looking forward to this weekend since its actually going to hit mid 60's here and with some sun So on the weekend to do list : 1) Finish leveling the back for the box to sit on 2) If Battery and power cables come in i will re do my BIG 3 3) Finish the box, clean it up with bleach all nice and sexy Some pics of one side done with the black hammer finished trims
  3. little chart to go by 00 awg 400 amps 0 awg 300-325 amps 1 awg 250 amps 2 awg 200 amps 4 awg 125 amps i had a 2000 mono on only 60 amp fuse, and 4 awg. and after 2 days of blasting it popped, so go bigger, i went for a 250 because i knew i was going to upgrade my system
  4. like he said he doesn't know the brand name but got it from autozone, i'd run a jumper to the back battery or take it off, put a little jumper on it from the alt or the front battery see what you come up with
  5. In progress of putting in kitchen laminate all around the box with some plastic angle trims that i spray painted with some bulky black paint. Aligning the back of the bed, waiting on the 3d vinyl to come in so i can trim it up in the back make it all nice and neat, and also will probably put some deadener in the back. ( Thanks to the guys from AJ Car Audio in Terryville, Connecticut who made the box happen, they did an outstanding job on it, and i really appreciate their business) Ideal for cutting kitchen laminate
  6. google DSO o-scope, try this one http://www.amazon.com/Seeedstudio-DSO-Nano-oscilloscope-V2/dp/B004DE31U0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333643170&sr=8-1 or simply just search for one, not that hard, see what you come up with and ask people what would be the best choice
  7. engine block, front car frame, pre existing cut holes or made with a bolt to screw on and sanded down before applying yada yada yada

  10. d3400 in front, d3100's (x2) in the back, 4 runs of 1/0, welding cable if you prefer, or i would try the XP flex cable from the mechman website, beefy lookin mo fuka cable on there, can choke an elephant with that bitch
  11. have the 97 club cab 1500 slt laramie edt, almost same thing, only thing is the back doors won't open. Anyhow, after hitting 135,000 i started having problems such as, catty clogged up with bullshit, bad water pump, radiator blew after coming back from canada ( got lucky) but these are simple things a person can fix no big deal, minor check engine lights possibly 2-3 times a year from 2010-2011ish 145,000 -153,000 runs still good, little problems such as replacement of shocks ( NEVER BEEN REPLACED SINCE IT WAS BORN, not my truck i know i got it when it only had 128,000), minor squeaks, tranny still kicking Just make sure you maintain it, replace coolant 1-2 a year that's what i do, high milage for oil change, tranny fluid, check the gaskets for oil pan, tranny etc
  12. can i strap two for ultimate power, OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. well it would of been helpful if you mentioned what website, lol
  14. i would try something like this, although i don't have any information of woofer displacement so i made up one close to what i believe your sub might have.
  15. you can say hes a beginner and tell him he needs to go outside the overpriced lineage haha edit : lol at the soccer moms van
  16. i don't have my setup installed to a 100%, can someone test these out, see if there is any clipping and see how it hits? The one to be looked at is Roll up Po' up http://www.mediafire.com/?384qy6ueewua1pz http://www.mediafire.com/?575kn98gaordvqn http://www.mediafire.com/?617of1vnv6kfng7
  17. with my old setup i was running 2 10's pushing about 1500 to em, and with a stock alt at around 114amps and at 1404 maximum watts(doesn't mean it actually pulled that much due to it being old as shit). After looking through my electrical i seen that the factory wire was only a 6 awg for some reason, and pretty sure if i uped it with a 2 or 0, it would have been alot better for my system. But then again my amp was fed by a single 4 awg coming from a yellow top and i can play a song for 30 seconds, then comes the voltage drop from 14.4 to 11.3-12.5ish. So it was intense and annoying
  18. just got the sub in today, FEDEX around here is not as brutal as i heard people tell me stories with broken baskets, etc. so here are a few pictures i took of the beast box will be done in maybe a week or so the dog was scarred of it
  19. i had a popping issue like that once, my issue was that i had mounted a little 2000watt mono block amp to the speaker box vertically for my 2-10's i was pushing them full tilt, until one day the amp crapped out on me, resolving in me putting the amp horizontally(lol), and after a month of banging again the amp finally gave out. But back to the popping, no idea why my subs actaully did that maybe it was because of the amp maybe just bad wiring, it would pop like you said in the beggining when raising volume or in the middle of raising it up to the max volume i could go to. It was never an issue for me to look back at because i had a back up amp, so i just chucked the other one in the garbage.
  20. if you are going to be listening to hip-hop, my preference would be, i'd go with 2 12"s kicker or w.e you prefer, like i said can't give you an honest opinion depends on your install, if you are going to have the box ported or sealed(wouldn't recommend). if you are a guy who listens to daily music, hip-hop, rap, jazz, r&b, electro etc. you can always go with 2 10"s sealed or ported also for a 15" idea, i would try the hcca from orion, seen some badass vidz of that thing and your amp is not a bad match for that sub like i said kind of hard to answer a question within subs i have never heard in my life, i would also look into digital design, DCaudio, audioque, skar, and peoples most used Fiaudio
