  1. Anyone know about lemon laws with alternators? It isn't mine, but a buddies and it's only 2 months old with 2 breaks so far. In the process of working it out with the company, but I didn't know about the lemon law in different states.

Well I'm in Texas. He is in PA. But the alternator broke legit the first Time. The company blamed it on him having too big of a bass amp for the 170amp alternator they built. But they replaced. Now it's happening again and charging on and off... Just trying to research other option for him incase the company doesn't want to refund. He wants a refund since this has happened twice in 2 months.

So this is an HO alt?

Yeah, I had an alt in my taurus that went out for no reason, turns out they say 1/1000 is just built bad, and needs to be replaced. It was a stock one they replaced at the dealer, so no charge. But I would bet they will be much more hesitant to cover any H/O alt....

  2. Not that I'm half as good in audio as many of your replies. But when I think of something I shoot for the most functional design and try to make it cool while still keeping things 100% functional. Ex, if the amps gotta be logo upside down to be functional > looks then I do that. If I gotta have these wires showing but I have more cooling for my amps, I do that. Ect ect. Try looking at it in a "ideal functional" mind set and try to make it look pretty from there. 4 15's or 6 12's might be better functional because you can double layer the whole box and maybe even a triple layer on the top to add more strength. Putting the amps together instead of on opposite sides of the vehicle, with the power inputs facing closest to your battery bank for short clean wire runs that don't cross over RCA's and speaker wires would also be another thing. Just food for thought.
  3. Vote on what will happen first... A 160 or a tercel that is ripped apart from DC audio sexiness and Meade behind the construction? Edit : I bet the dash and the windshield will look like its been in a junk yard since 95 either during or after Meade breaks the 60.

  5. What would you do with ch3&4 if 1&2 are already on the doors. Trying to figure out how to put a outside speaker display on my roof or trunk lid for when im at shows to make use of those channels and just unplug and store when im not at shows so i dont effect my daily driver. Any ideas?

I didn't think about the LC1 idea! That's freakin awesome. I could mount the LC1 deep in the trunk where I know where it is. Let is loose during shows and cut it off when the trunk is closed...

I was thinking about making a double baffle rear beauty panel.. Then flush mounting 4 coax CT sounds speakers in it. I have a example pic I might upload to my build log. Still debating if its best that way, but the lc1 is a great idea.

  6. Good god...I've NEVER seen a pair of 12s cause that much flex in a car I second this...
  7. pac LC1 replaced my knob a while ago. MUCH MUCH MUCH better. Way more control over bass and zero feedback.
  8. God damn this box. Hurry up BHE! Im forced to turn my ported box into a sealed box by taking out the port and sealing the hole while i wait for a real box.

  9. Decided that a complete OFC rewire is in order before TD. CCA was good, but not being able to get a dc 270XP yet, and the limitations to a single group 31 battery is hurting my overall voltage. Hoping this $300 venture can give me a extra overall volt full tilt.

1 for 1, you should see a difference with the OFC.

  10. Im not a fan of uneven amounts of subs so i vote for 2 z's
  11. New Ct2500 put me back in the 12v club full tilt. 13.1-12.8 full tilt rev, 12.1-11.8 idle at a stop light the whole 30-45 seconds.

also remember, I went from a 2500 at 14.4 volt amp.. (maybe less, never proven on dyno).. to a 3900+ at 14.4 volt amp that has a cousin that passed the dyno with flying colors. That could account for the 13.7 to 12.8 voltage drop difference.

Ok I see!! nice!!!!! well time to upgrade that electrical to feed that beast!!!

    4. Swordlordboy1234

      Swordlordboy1234

Working on the electrical thing. I gotta get a cold air intake to make under hood room. And then a CCA to OFC conversion along with a Deka to XS power conversion with a DC power 270XP should get some better voltage. I hope.....

  12. My official guess is 10,227 rms watts. That is the total of all 6. Good luck everyone! Sexy ass amp for sure.
  13. Would you guys go with Qlogic kicks? Im thinking about giving 2 sets of CT sounds pro comps rated power instead of giving 1 set a crap ton of power. (ct sounds 125.4)

LOL. well im all for pushing limits. But double RMS to comps might not be a good idea. I just dont know if Qlogic is how i wanna remedy it.

      ChevyBoy95

i have used them, they were ok, but didnt seem 170 dollars good. Color rubs off, it is just painted plastic, but other than that, i ran a pair for about a year with no issues.

      Swordlordboy1234

thanks for the review mr chevy. Its tempting to try my hand at fiberglassing since there is things like sunflash now. I got a couple months to figure it out. But premade Kicks sounds like such an awesome thing

  14. Can't wait to get all my new stuff and start my re rebuild. New box. More power on both bass and doors. Better comps in doors. Hell yes

Cant wait to see this build log!! I seen you speak of a new team.. so I'm interested in seeing the new beginnings!! :D

  15. Seperate remote power ground / from RCA speaker wires if possible. I try to. The protective coverings people use on these wires help with noise I'm sure but if you can seperate why not?
  16. The burden of selling audio stuff is crazy. Gotta bump it 500 times, lower your price 30 times, and still eat shipping to get someone to buy.

Took that advise and sent a couple messages to friends with less power then me lol.

    4. Krakin

      Krakin

Offer to help install it, if it'll take a whole new wire setup then you might say for a little more you'll do it. If a simple drop in then just do it for free.

  17. make it a level 6 18. that looks like a XL.
  18. Insert carbons application here. All DC votes yes on it.
  19. Sitting next to a bunch of HOTT sorority girl in my dorm main hall. It's very entertaining I hear all hear all the crap they have done.

What keeps you guys going even when your feeling burnt out.?

I think I better question would be does anyone NOT ever feel burnt out at college. I dont know what your major is but when I got my degree in EE there were definitely times were I stopped caring and gave up on certain things. But, 4 years goes by faster than you think. Stick with it, it gets easier after you graduate.

I workout everyday and plan certain days to do nothing to do with school. they don't come very often but a release is a must to keep a mind on track and sane

  22. I would also like to see 15+ foot run tests. Could be slightly wasteful on wire if it was fresh but CJ you have enough wire laying around. I'm sure you got enough to test this with out ruining rolls
  23. I wonder if i put "Walled" on my build log if i would get more comments. Seems like you need to have a wall, yoga pants or buttsecks.
