Worked on the receiver hitch today for Pig-Pen. Started laying it out and getting ready to start welding it up. I machined the C-Channel down to fit inside the frame rails so I can weld them in there then I will weld the hitch part to them. I also left the center part longer then it needs to be but I will cut it to size once I get it in there and see exactly how long it needs to be. There is another part to this that will be at the end of the frame I just haven't machined it out yet.

Also worked on the front trim piece that goes on the hood. The sheet metal bracket that goes to it to mount it was rusted off. You can not buy this piece just by it's self so I had to come up with something. Since the very front of this hood won't in the best of shape and I had to straighten the trim section back out I decided to make my own studs and drill all the way through it and the hood and use these small stainless steel acorn nut's I had in the shop. I also found 2 skulls and thought they looked kinda cool so I put them on there as well. Now I will send this piece off Monday to be powder coated Wet Black with the rest of my parts!

Laying it out

I don't have all of them tight yet but this is what they look like on there

Today's work won't too bad! Would of got more done but had to cut grass for the wife tore my tail up! :vava: LOL I know I bounce around alot on my work but that's how I mange to get so much done. I try to not to stay on one thing at a time or I feel like things go slower then if I move around a little. Had to cut the Bumper where the hitch will be at, as well as the aluminum trim section that is in the center of the rear bumper. The plate will cover all this up when not in use. I had to straighten it out the best I could you can not buy this section new so I had to make the best of it! All of this goes out to be blasted and powder coated tomorrow, I'm really trying to save as much as the original car that I can!

I like to show all this work just so you can see how much hard work really goes into one of these old car's! :hi: It's easy to make pictures look good but once it's all done if it don't look good to the eye then it was time wasted! <_<

Thanks guy's! I do Love doing this kinda of stuff and I've been working on it over at my dad's place so it has been getting him out of the house and hanging out with me! Since his battle with Liver cancer he hasn't been doing much and this is motivating him to come out of the house more so that's a GREAT thing! Work was kinda rough today so I only plan on riding over to the Powder Coater's today to drop my stuff off. I'll be back on it tomorrow!
