a few months back, one of my youtube buddies got his shit stolen and when i saw the video it really bothered me to see someone go through what i have gone through a few times in my life. Getting your car broken into, even if they just rifled through your glove box and took nothing, is a terrible feeling.....but losing an entire system is the worst. So i thought about it for a while, what can i do to help this guy. I made a few phone calls and arranged getting him at least some of his stuff back. He was running JL Audio but i don't know anyone at JL so i called my boys at Rockford. Now keep in mind, RF didn't give me anything but they did give me a nice discount. In other words, nothing you see in this video was free (on my end). I paid a decent chunk (not to mention shipping). Why would i do that for someone i only know on youtube? I guess you can call it paying it forward. Actually, its just me being me - but i have to say, when i got my shit stolen out of my honda (like 7 years ago) and David from RE Audio (now PSI) sent me 2 brand new MT 18's, i never forgot that. I think about that all the time. I still have those and i will probably never get rid of them because they are special. So shots out to some of the people who have helped me and in turn, i ALWAYS help others when i can, because of people like that. Anyhow, thats just the short story of why i would do something like this. i can't wait to see it all installed, but he did say it might take a few months first. It don't matter, he has the gear and he can move on now

actually, not everyone knows it. Some people think im an asshole because maybe they told me "you have big rims and big woofers because your dick is small" and i told them i would slap their mother across the forehead with it and show how small it is......those people don't like me. hahah... but anyone who is halfway cool, i am always cool to. Period. People are 100% grade A assholes to me and they don't seem to like my comebacks very much which leads me to being called even more names LMAO. What can i do.

I wouldn't mind lvl 4's but my budget keeps rising at this rate it'll keep growing and i wont ever buy anything.. I started with $2k budget then $3k, now im a little above $4k. But i've considered it a lot but if i up the sub's i'll need to up the amp too. That'll be my second stage build. You don't HAVE to up the amp initially if you up the subs...but you can always upgrade later after you save some money up and then your subs will be ready to handle the upgrade when it happens. Just my .02

AGAIN, because i know people are like "what about the van, what about the Civic"....those cars are reserved for SMD v2 subs. If i don't hear anything by the first of the year, the reservation is open to whatever i want. For now though, the Tercel has no ties and it's about time me and Rusty worked together on something.

...Changing the game. Love it! Very cool new product. There's going to be a LOT of mad "clampers" out there. I agree, having it connect to a computer to log the data would be nice. How about something more simple. A USB port on the AMM-1 that logs the data and stores it to a CSV file on the attached flash stick? You could then take the flash stick to your computer later and plot the data in Excel. I would assume that writing all that data would slow down the measurements so it might have to be implemented differently, but it'd be a nice feature anyway. Am I the only one who's curious about the green circuit board with the many RCA connections in the video? BTW, awesome that you incorporated Tesla in the video and your products. Weird dude, but a genius nonetheless!

To answer the OP -- the Z v.4 line has been known to handle ~2x or so of it's rated power. A thermal failure is unlikely in most applications -- you would be more likely to damage the lead-wire via clipping or perhaps even damage the spider itself physically. In one of our test bench setups here (Jovanni's Golf) on a 3500D @ 0.5 ohm we saw these type of things before thermal failure. He did have a massive 3 cubic foot box for one 12" woofer, though, so a more reasonable box would largely eliminate the possibility of physical spider damage (2.25 or so seems to be pretty ideal in our testing so far). So just keep an eye on clipping and you can run a ton of power on them =)
