  1. Make sure you build a good box for it, the box is like 90% of the reason a sub will sound good or bad.
  2. I would probably look for nice ends as well like split tip or something so they dont just fall out.
  3. Oh my bad man, I thought you meant 50 bucks for all the cables combined cost. Yeah the knuconceptz are good quality, stinger also makes nice ones, rockford fosgate as well. Although some people will say the rca cables make no difference whats so ever as long as you run them away from power, I still like a decent set of rca's.
  4. Passive means you are using the crossovers that come with the componet system, active means you are using some sort of electronic crossover with separate amps designated for subwoofers, mids, and tweeters.
  5. Wow $50 bucks for 4 sets of rca cables? I guess just buy whatevers cheapest. If you are only willing to spend $50 on all the cables how much could quality actually mean to you?
  6. Double baffle is 2 sheets of mdf instead of 1 that you bolt the subs to.
  7. I think you should get some more input from people that compete and see what they say, I was mostly thinking of sound quality and not so much spl. They may say what i have said is totally unnecessary for spl.
  8. maybe see if you can fire it off the glass in the rear. But man you may not have any problems at all, you seem like you know what you are doing. I was just trying to give an explanation for the reason people fire the port backwards.
  9. Its actually called port boundry loading. Boundary loading is achieved when the output of a subwoofer is reinforced by a nearby stationary boundary. The net result is increased output from the subwoofer – kind of like the increase in bass response you get when locating the subwoofer in your home theater in a corner.
  10. You may have port loading issues if the port is facing up, bass may not sound as deep.
  11. Id probably tint the windows first. Lowered car with no tinted windows would look weird.
  12. DLS and hertz make nice componet sets and they sell them on ebay so its not that difficult to find them.
  13. Mono is just 1 signal as opposed to stereo which is 2, Running a mono amp to your subs is pretty normal, doesnt matter how many subs you run off the amp as long as you wire it correctly for ohm load. So with your 10's they are dual 2 ohm voice coils, you will need to wire each subwoofers voice coils into series, then wire both subwoofers together in parralel to give you a 2 ohm load.
  14. 4k would go very fast, sound deadener 200-700, alt 400, batterys depending on how many 300-1000, wire, rca's, fuses 350, head unit pioneer deh80-prs 350, box building materials 100, subs 500-1800 or more, amp or amps 250-2000 or more depending. component speakers 150-600 or more. little extra bs tools and extra stuff at least another 100.
  15. I was thinking the same thing lol. Very nice looking work on the system.
  16. I doubt they under rate on purpose, any subwoofer will take over rated power if the signal is clean.
  17. Thats around 7.25 cubic ft net. should be enough for a 4th order.
  18. Only problem is when that stuff starts to wear off its going to look like shit and be difficult to remove.
  19. Can you get a voltage regulator of some sort from dc power?
