you basically just want to pay attention to the Uncertified numbers, since that is measured how most will tune their amps. Certified it tested until there is 1% distortion, Uncertified ignores distorting and just looks for clipping, Dynamic shouldn't even be thought of as anything of importance. Its how much power is put out over 1/10th of a second blurp from the amp. So its more like that MAX power rating everyone says not to look at. They market it to say the dynamic test is how much power you get on music and the others are tones, but how many songs do most people play that only have bass notes that hit for 1/10th of a second? you are wrong bro. The dynamic test is still RMS. It is not "max", "maxx", or "maxxx". It is not peak. The test does use a pulse rather then a 10 second sine wave but it hits hit fast and hard for about 10 of those "pulses". It mimics the strain on the amp it would see when playing something dynamic....like music. That test is legit and should still not be confused with peak numbers at all. In fact, i have found most amps don't do THAT much higher of a number from non-cert to dynamic burst. Usually it's a little higher, but not much. Due to the different amplifier designs, some amps kick ass in dynamic burst, some only see a small increase. But again, it isn't to be confused with a "if lighting struck it" situation because that is far from the case.

I would like to see this too cause I dont use dual inputs. I have always gained on the meter when using dual inputs. Now I have the tool to test and show what causes those gains. I am expecting the numbers on the 7.5k test to go up when I can feed it proper current. The 5k and 7.5k both use 2 power and 2 ground inputs. On my bench right now I am using dual inputs with 2awg wire. I believe that the 5k is getting the current it wants but the 7.5k still wants more than it can draw through those wires. I am hoping to see a substantial power output increase when switching to a larger wire. At the very least it will be an interesting test to see what happens. I may also order a spool of CCA wire to test vs OFC as well.

I am uploading a video of the 5k on the dyno now. Didnt run all of the tests, but ran a few. Very nice numbers! I did accidentally stop recording. I was planning on running a few more tests, but oh well.

I wish people would get off of that train right now, saying .8 or 1 ohm numbers don't matter because of rise... Who in here is discrediting 14 voltage numbers because some people don't have the proper electrical and drop to 12 volts? "Yeah, screw those numbers because they're at 14 volts and I drop to 11" You are seeing what the amp CAN do at this impedance and this voltage, it's up to the user to get as close to those conditions as possible. Wow am I glad I chose to go with 2 - 5.0's instead of one 12K. Or even one 10K. Anyway you can test two 5.0's strapped? (I could drive mine down to you, and pick up that motor while I'm there?)

I am running tests back to back with very little time for the batteries to recover. That is why the drop down to 13.5 on the uncertified test. Ideally I would let the batteries sit for a few minutes between each test, but with so little time and so many tests to run, I just cant. I totally get that, but why then was the 7.5's uncertified #'s higher, even though the voltage was lower? Actually, every amp I've seen tested has gotten more power from un-certified mode. I'm not really concerned with the voltage as much as I am the output #'s. That wasn't that much voltage drop.. Just don't see how the "un-certified" mode would get weaker. And on this amp only. Not trying to argue or start shit, just really don't understand those results. I think that # should be over 6K, if the certified is over 6K. See what I'm getting at?

I have another 5k on the way to test. The 5k I have now was sent to me directly from the repair center. Is have been repaired 3 times now. I ordered a brand new 5k last week so I have a baseline to test against.

It's interesting 1.2k did something like +2.3% 3.5 at -3.46% 5k at +21.76% 7.5k at -2.85% All in cert mode.

But if the amp only comes with single or dual inputs then shouldn't that be enough and that's how it should be tested? Idk that's my way of thinking about it Valid point and they will be tested that way as well. I am also going to show the absolute ideal situation and how to get the most power out of your amp. You cant exactly fit 6 power and 6 ground inputs on these bigger amps either. 3/3 is the most that will fit. Just because that is what is on the amp doesnt mean that that is all it needs to supply the amp with the current that it wants. I am going to order a roll of CCA 1/0 today to prove that point even further.

You are very mistaken in that thought. Just because you are wired to 1 ohm nominal at the amp doesnt mean you are actually seeing 1 ohm once signal is applied to the subs. Do some research and find out about impedance rise and you will understand what I am talking about better.

First 5k tests were done on 7 D1400s. Second was with 7 D1400s and 14 s1400s I am going to be running all tests on every amp again along with video so everyone can see the test being done in all modes and ohm loads. Today was more of me just having fun with a new tool.

That is the sign of a well built amplifier with lots of current capacity, if it can continue to double its power when you halve the impedance.

Well, as an update... my 4 1600 Brutus '08 models made it through this weekend.... (Yeah- as in 5 years old) Demo after demo, then did 2 Street Beat runs back to back at full tilt on antique floppy suspension subs (150.8 peak dropped to 149.7 b/c I wasn't paying attention to voltage), then did more demos for 15 minutes playing the same track at the same volume.... and after all of that.... the amps were as cool as cucumbers. At the show there were two dudes talking crap (about everyone's systems) but also about Hifonics when they saw my amps. ...funny, they didn't have rides in the lanes or even cars there with systems. Hmm. I still ain't even mad.

If it passes dynamic that is still rms and passes in my book? So please tell me how it failed again? So the dc amp failed too?? Noone that buys amps that get dynod di it for strictly notes so they don't need to pass that.

I was thinking about that earlier today too. But this failed by almost 1/3 rated. While the 3.5 was a little over a hundred watts. I agree, big difference. But, still the dc does close to rated not rated. So at the risk of flames I am just saying if the shoe fits

the amp dyo will test the output on the amp based on whatever power source you have to give it (the amplifier). It can be a best case, worst case scenario dependent on what you have on hand. And what is on hand is usually dependent on your bank account. For right now I believe the amp dyno is so new everyone is testing on benches to see if what amp manufacturers are claiming is true. Give it some time and we will see these tests migrate to in car amplifiers running. The we can say Amp X did XXXX output on battery Y and Alternator Z while in a Make Model of car. i think there is one video like that floating around.

I just tested one of my DC Audio 3.5k amps. Test was done using 7 XS Power D1400s for a battery bank. I tested Certified, Un Certified, and Dynamic at 1ohm and .8 ohm. 1 ohm Test. Certified UnCertified Dynamic .8 ohm test Certified UnCertified Dynamic

My biggest hang up is the bs made up ratings. If buy a car with a 465hp rated motor & discover it's really 325hp....yea I'd be pissed off.

Skar products seem pretty decent. But will they do what they say they'll do? When I shop around, I try to look for a bit of honesty in a company. I'll never buy a HiFonics amp again because it wouldn't do what it was rated to do. I will stand by brands like Pioneer or hell, even JL Audio, because they don't have to lie to kick it. I think that's what's in question here about Skar Audio. I see Sundown and DC doing waaay above rated. That kind of thing goes a long way towards keeping customers loyal.

I see some very realistic guesses and then some that are like holy shit. Y'all remember that certified is a really hard test. If these amps do some of the numbers over rates power that you guys are predicting, I foresee a lot of amps be sold!
