I skimmed over this thread, and the race thing keeps coming up. It pisses me off. I grew up in a city full of hispanic and asian gangs, and guess who the cops shot all the time? Hspanics and asians. Now, I live in a very nice city. It is mostly white, but guess who the drug dealers and trash are? Whites. Guess who gets beat down here? Whites. Its all demographics and statistics in my eyes. Let's assume for a minute that the cop goes down for murder 1. The "celebration" would look about the same as what's happening now. As far as "waiting on all the facts" I'm calling bullshit on that line. I'm quite confident everyone has made up their mind by now and that is just translation for "I'm just waiting on facts that support what I've already decided before I say what I think in public". For those waiting on the "facts", what precisely will you accept as "facts" if they contradict what you are expecting? Philly cops are fucked up anyway. The last time I was down there I was working at Sungard on Broad street. I got stopped because I was walking at 3 am and I was white. Well we may disagree their slightly, in my opinion, it's much harder working that 9-5 job for a small paycheck,insurance, house payments, utilities and worrying about various other bills, feeding and clothing the kids and such. You should know if your a parent, trying to make your kids understand the right way of living. My father was shot while a liquor store was being robbed, a group of people ran out and two where shot, mistaken by a black rookie officer. My father was shot in the back of the neck, severing his jugular vein artery. Then falling on a old style short picketed fence, which pierced his chest. But they said he died from the gunshot wound. And the officer was not prosecuted, they called it an accidental shooting. No am i angry and bitter about this, hell yea. But that does not give me the right to hate blacks or police officers. There is good and bad in all walks of life. And just because we may be poor and bitter, is no justification, to go out and take from others or commit crimes. It is our past and our common sense which shapes our lives. And though i may have had it ruff as a youth, it is those things that helped me to strive forward so my children would not have to grow up in these situations. And yes i know bad things happen in all neighborhoods, but they are less likely to happen in a responseable neighborhood. Just thought I'd throw this out there: I come from a multiracial family, in more ways than one. My brother and I are both adopted from separate families. We grew up like any brothers do, busting each other's balls and giving our parents Hell, but I love the little shit like he's my blood. I was 5 when he came home for the first time, been there for most of his life, he had his first beer with me and my friends that took him in like THEIR little brother. I'm caucasian, German/Irish/Cherokee, but fairly dark skinned and have been mistaken for being hispanic/middleeastern/all kinds of shit if I spend a bit of time out in the sun due to how dark I get. My younger brother is hispanic. Both my parents are VERY light skinned. You should see the surprise on people's faces when my parents claim us. My brother grew up in a good neighborhood, largely stayed out of trouble, never had any dealings with officers mistreating him or hassling him because of his race. You can rest assured if anything like that had happened, my father and I would've circled the wagons and gone to war, that's just how my family is. Race is not, and never was an issue in my family. Maybe we're more open minded than most, maybe it's how my father raised us. When you see me comment on race, understand where I'm coming from. I, by definition, can't be a racist. To discriminate against someone because of their race would earn me a swift kick in the ass from my father, and probably my younger brother as well, but mostly I'd just be ashamed of myself. It's not who I am. Quite to the contrary, I expect everyone to work for what they have, and take responsibility for their actions. It is because I'M NOT a racist, that I do not give any race or class of people any slack when they act like the people in Ferguson do. i just read this whole thread, and all i can say is it brings me down! i don't really know anyone on this forum personally,and i read way more stuff than i post, just to gain audio knowledge. but i must say that reading all these comments i kinda get a feel for who everyone is,and how they think.im not taking sides because i only believe in whats right,and we don't know that right now.this is just plain sad,we are definitely not who we thought we were as a nation,but i already knew that.the best thing a person can do is educate and better themselves,and the rest will follow.

It's the ones you don't hear about living in middle class neighborhoods that are your friends and neighbors that move major weight and you never even had a clue they did it till you see them in the news. Girlfriends uncle worked with a guy doing maintenance and a high end apartment complex making $20 an hour always had bad ass cars owned a bunch of houses always said he just invested his money right to get so wealthy off a $20 an hour job well turned out yeah he invested in running a major dope operation he was moving 200lbs of weed every couple weeks. trust me this guy was no thug and you would never suspect he was the type for it dorky as can be and one of the nicest guys you would ever meet would give you the shirt off his back we never even had a clue till he got busted his grown adult kids didn't even know.

Sorry guys just not able to post.. wow so much to say.. Let me start off by saying this.. and I think most of us will agree here on this None of us know what went on.. None of us were there. So its not far for ANY of us to make a judgment based on incomplete facts. That's just wrong. While there are going to be some that will not understand nor are educated enough to see we need to see EVERYTHING before a fair judgment could be made you are going to have others that will support BOTH sides ( cop as well as Michael) without knowing anything but solely based on race. I think we also can all agree on this. That "IF" any of us were to have shot and killed a cop and we would be locked up arrested and it would be up to us in order to prove our innocence. No way in hell would we be able sit and wait under protective custody for the prosecutor to gather information until they felt that they had enough to charge us and THEN ARREST US. Within us all you are going to have good apples and bad apples.. Even one bad apple can make the rest of the good apples look bad. While i am not saying that ALL cops are bad which i agree that are not.. there are PLENTY of cops who abuse their authority and violate the rights of American citizens. This has been proven to happen to those who fall within the law. There needs to be some type of consequences for those cops abusing the rights and they should be held to the same standard that WE the American people are held to! I'm shocked too every article I've read inn CNN about has been quick to point out that a white cop shot a black teen. Finnaly a story not trying to do any race baiting it's amazing. I really would like to know what would have happened if it was a black officer that shot the kid would have even been national news? For some reason I doubt it. With technology where it's at there is no reason that all LEO's across the country don't have video recording for every interaction that occurs. Furthermore, less than lethal rubber bullets in all their guns will stop any assailant in there tracks without killing them. What that cop did AFTER he got out of the police car was pure murder( REMEMBER THESE OFFICERS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE TRAINED AND SKILL AT THIER KRAFT). Even the chief said that the cop knew nothing about him being a suspect in the shoplifting case. So in all this kid died because he was walking in the middle of the road. Even the chief says the same thing. And i belive is called shoplifting not robbery, there is a difference. ALSO WHAT IF THIS WAS YOUR KID. We as parents can't be with our kids 24/7 but we try to teach them right from wrong. Why did he follow brown after the he shot him the first time? It has been proven multiple times and shown how the manner of a police officer changes once they see that they are on video. This is a fact! While it may see a little off to you it could just be that no one was there to film what had happened. Plain and simple. I believe that ALL citizens should record the police. I see your point, but you also have to see the officers point. Knowing these protest now a days never turn out peacefull. Hell even after a sports team win's a championship, they do this same shit. And when you are protesting with a mob of people, not permitted, you are breaking the law. Disturbing the peace, intimidating citizens and so on and so on. Let's face it, we all know what it means, when a group of people with a mon mentality are out shouting, No Justice, No peace. You couldn't be more wrong in your thinking sir. I can assure that no permit is needed for any type of protest and there are no permits requested for any of the protesters down there! There are plenty of peaceful protest that happen in the U.S and of course some that are not. What was done there to the innocent people was a disgrace. Not only to the protesters but to the media as well. There was media that was arrested with no charges and then let loose with no paperwork. Not everyone in those crowds had a mob mentality. Police are trained to try to de-escalate the situation and that didn't happen in the situation that i am talking about. You can see the big difference that happened the night AFTER. There were no need for snipers, no need for militarized tanks, no need for hundreds of officers with assault rifles being pointed at peoples heads when they were doing nothing but what the constitution of the United States of America says they have a right to do. While I agree that some of that force was needed for the hostile groups, what happened to those innocent people was a pure violation and if the same thing happened to me you can rest assured that i would have shot back and I'm not talking rubber bullets.

The latest I've read is that the police have stopped their tactics against the protestors to let them do their thing, but of course it has to be done peacefully. The moment violence and theft breaks out, I'm all for them using tear gas and rubber bullets. After what happened to the protesters happened ( including the media) then the security was handed over to the state police and the county police was relieved of their duties. They just didn't fire on the peaceful protesters but they did on MEDIA as well.

You are wrong in a few aspects of what you have posted. 1) You don't need any type of permit to get together to voice your opinion. That is your constitutional right to do so 2) Your statement that NONE of the protest was peaceful is completely wrong again! There were many protest that went on that were peaceful and without harm. If I am at a protest and following all the laws that are put into place, NO officer can tell me to go home! I can sit there and voice my opinion as long as they want and when someone of the laws tells me that its time for me to go home then i am going to become upset. When the law forces me to move by hitting me with rubber bullets and gas then I am going to fight back and shoot back with things that they will not be able to get up from. Sorry but you were wrong on both of those points. I didn't bother to read your other points

I dont care for police. Ive yet to meet one, that was decent. Small dicks, with a badge/gun is all ive ever encountered. (absolute power, corrupts absolutly) That said, fuckers running around stealing, and burning shit, in the name of the dead boy,.... makes even less sense to me.....

Like i stated before.. wait until everything comes out. My issue is not what happened to the kid.. he stole so it is what it is there but my even bigger issue was how the local police violated the constitutional right of the "PEACEFUL" ones that were out protesting. Making them leave when it is there constitutional right to protest how ever long they feel. Then when they don't leave they are subject to gas and rubber bullets. I can assure you they would have had to kill me that night. In regards to the video, it's why I made a point of waiting until all the evidence came out as none of us were there. I'm still waiting before I say my peace on that part. I have contacted the local person of the ACLU here to ask them very valid questions. What happens when I am protesting and a office of the law points a sniper rifle or any kind of weapon at me? What happens when I am being told I have to go home at a given time from a person of the law? What happens when I don't bow down to that command and get gassed and hit with rubber bullets? What rights do I have to protect my life when I feel threatened by the law when I am in my constitutional right of doing something?

i can understand people might be upset but i think the biggest thing that drives me insane is those fucking thieves stealing shit....they don't care about the dead guy they are just looking for a reason to steal and get a free come-up. Disgusting.
