Would anyone be interested in Droppin HZ offering a SMD Tool rental program? Would include dd1, dd1+, cc1, and amm1. If there is enough legit interest, I will set this up. I know not everyone wants to spend or can afford to spend the money on these tools, but a rental program would give anyone the opportunity to properly tune/test their system. Pricing would vary based on the tool and length of rental. You would pay rental fee and shipping both ways.

im down for that i would love to get my hands on a cc-1 to use. my momma always taught me to returen things in the same or better condition than i recieved them. Why can everyone do that.

Ok, so now that the "cap" is out of the bag, I know everybody that is serious about SPL competition has lots of questions. Well, hopefully this helps. Q: Where can I buy these sexy things? A: Loose Supercells are a “direct to consumer” item only, so you will not see them listed on our website, or for sale at any dealer, or online store. Q: Why not? A: Because we said so... Seriously though, ultracaps can be very dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced user. For this reason, loose cells will be sold only to those who are pre-qualified and are already a part of, or willing to be a part of Team XS Power. Along with the standard team agreement, those who wish to purchase cells, will also have to sign a consent waiver to use this product. Q: How much are they? A: The same price as all the other ultracaps, and yes… there will be bulk discounts. We will provide bulk pricing details to those who are qualified. Q: How soon can I buy them? A: We are accepting orders now, however, the first shipments will not be ready for delivery until the end of January, 2015. Q: What makes them any different than any other ultracap out there? A: Nothing. They work equally as well as any other ultracap we’ve tested… they just look way cooler. Q: Why should I buy them instead? A: Because we said so… but in all seriousness, our customers have been asking for us to introduce some new technology, so here it is. And there is plenty more to come! Q: What are the benefits of using them? A: Ultracaps can help reduce the strain on your batteries, helping them last longer. With a properly sized cap bank, you can minimize the effects of voltage loss on your electrical system and improve the overall efficiency of charge/discharge. Q: Can I use only caps and no batteries? A: Yes, but we do not recommend it because there are excellent benefits that both the cap and the battery can offer, so why not take advantage of both and save the most money? After over a year and a half of testing, our recommendation is to use one ultracap bank for every 50Ah of battery capacity for burps, or one ultracap bank for every 100-120Ah for music. Q: What is an ultracap bank? A: If you have to ask this question, you’re probably not qualified to use them. But just to be safe, 6 cells must be used for a 12V bank (16.2V max), and 7 cells must be used for a 16V bank (18.9V max), as each cell is 2.7V each. Q: Do we recommend these instead of batteries? A: No, batteries are still the simplest and most affordable way to get the power you need for most users. However, for those who are serious about competition, ultracaps can help to increase SPL scores in short bursts or short duration. Q: I already have some ultracaps from another company, can I use these in parallel with my other caps too? A: Yes, but as with anything in SPL competition, the more consistency you can build into the system, the better. Q: I’m too scared to work with raw ultracaps, will you offer anything for me in the future? A: Yes, the release of the XS Power SuperCell is mainly to showcase the component parts of our upcoming SuperCell Modules. We have been working on these for nearly a year and a half, and hope to be able to have them ready for official release this summer. so how are you going to account for DOA items? You ship it to me and I say doesn't work or vice versa.... You know the answer both sides are gonna say is, "worked fine when I shipped it" also, who's interpretation of " normal wear and tear" is gonna be used? You know there's going to inevitably bd minor wear on I and ill be damned if I'm going to be charged for theme tool. and as far as shipping I concerned, is return shipping included in the rental fee? Better have tracking and insurance as a must. all these factors drive up the cost of mail order rentals and sometimes make the hoops and cost not worth the effort. In addition making a contractual agreement on an item sight unseen isn't always the best business practice. have you thought out how long and how many rentals it would take to recoup your initial cost of the tool and how much longer after that the tool can remain in use to garner profit? Your time and effort have to be factored in also, its not going to ship itself and how much time and effort would it take to fight a deadbeat customer??? just looking at thus from a business standpoint is all. Dang! I had been thinking and hoping for something like this for a while! This is awesome! No one within about 3 hours of me has a DD-1 or CC-1 and my car is getting the Trans rebuilt and I don't want my maiden voyage to be 3 hours away haha rental could be freaking sweet!

i did this on another forum and its not as common as you'd be lead on to think. grant it, it did pay for me to get my dd1, cc1, and amm1. i've since stopped renting out devices b/c the effort to track device out and those expected to come back was just too much. my pricing and time was fair but i still ran into issues of devices not being returned on time and people saying it was returned when it never was even dropped at the post office. it's way more trouble than its worth.

I was going to suggest, you purchase a amp from Dhz you get 2 free days of dd1 rental. Or something. Imagine all the clean gain settings across the land.

You would have to make it more detailed than just damaged. If you get a tool back and the probes are shot, you cant charge the person the full price of the tool (at least I couldnt). Something like those would be considered wear and tear and be subject to failing just like multimeter leads, or the carpet in a rental property (unless it was brand new carpet just installed before the tenant moved in and now its full of stains, burns and animal piss). LOL

Sounds like a cool idea. Just be prepared for damage too occur either by the users carelessness or your "friend" that lied straight to your face or possibility of the tools not being returned. The only way I could see it being trusted is with some sort of a pre-auth on the persons credit card to make sure tool replacement money is there and available in case something bad happens. Not that they use a credit card with $200 limit which is enough to say pay the rental and shipping both ways, but then they dont ship it back, and you go to charge them and its declined. Im sure you got something figured out. now send me a amm-1 to rent for a couple days to measure my power.

Brent is rad as fuck. First time i met him, he treated me like wed known each other for years. Offerd a hand getting me set up, gave me some pointers, even though we were going against each other. Just a super nice guy. And his work, ... has it all. Form, Function, and dope style. He is just "one of those" types .......

hey bro, if you know me, i was NEVER handed anything, not even my lift. I spent 25 years on my back, in the gutter, under jacks and jack stands. And get this, ive only owned a real floor jack since like the year 2000 maybe a little earlier than that but not much earlier haha. I have changed trannys using scissor jacks, on my back, in the street more than a few times. I remember having like 5 of them because i hit up the local "pick and pull" and scored some from the wrecking yard. I thought i was rich because i had extra STOCK scissor jacks from those boneyard cars to get my job done. even my very first car blew the tranny and knowing NOTHING i changed it out in the street. Pops didn't want no oil on his driveway. Yes, at 16 i was swapping tranny's and even my engine. It was either that or i had no ride. Nobody gave me shit. I learned though....kids nowadays (i admit, even mine) get to call AAA and have pops help them get it fixed. It's ok i feel like i sacrificed so my kids don't have to suffer like i did. I don't spoil them, i teach them.....but they still got it way easier.
