You'll see
-
Did you get it?
-
Nope still searching

I think I'm just going to hot glue my dustcap, run my subs until the epoxy gives way, then reglue them. The process of trying to get the spiders up off the landing would ruin the recone anyway
-
Woah. Actually using something I used in math class. In real life. Woah. Woah woah wow woah wtf
-
Roughly how much CA glue would I need to glue up a pair of 12s? 2oz? Going to see if I can return this epoxy and salvage my recones. The stuff just isn't hardening. It's a hard gel, not a hard epoxy.
-
I swear.... Been getting the "OrionStang" side of things lately. Pissing me off. Epoxy that I used to glue my recones is only gelling. Not really hardening. Bottle says 24 hrs to full strength though. Fingers crossed

I spent money to get quality epoxy lol. Guy at the hobby shop where I got it from suggested that over CA glue
-
I've been wondering where the hell Ken went off to
-
I think he got banned^???
-
Yeah I'm not reconing anything right now. Need to grab one of those 80 grit flap wheels. Wire brush is taking forever and a day lol
-
My overkill 3/4 impact performed beautifully today. No one's 1/2" could get it off. Snap on and IR. Mine buzzed it off without even a second thought. That's using a 3/8" air hose with a 1/4" fitting. Curious what it will do with a 1/2" hose and some 3/8 or 1/2 fittings

Sweet! Turns out 1" mdf is exactly 1". Not .8" like 3/4 mdf. This will make life a bit easier

where you get 1"? they don't stock it ANYWHERE close to me, have to go to cabinet shop or something...
-
Hey you can get 1.5 also fromcabinet supply house. Heavy as hell you can get 4x8. 4x10 or 4x12 sheets.
-
yeah but 3/4" is actually slightly bigger. You will find this out if you try to use a standard stacked dado set to do 3/4" dados and rabbits. I know from experience lol

Debating ditching this current box. Being a pain to pull any sort of decent score from. Might just do the good 'ol subs up port back/down the middle. Seems like it's been good to me

Anyone know what sort of bit Id need to drill Chromoly?
-
Hmmm. I'm tempted to look into a cheap head unit and put a radio in my tool box

Ok cool. Yeah cheap is the name of the game here. It's in a toolbox, probably get beat up a bit haha
-
Go to a pick and pull or something, that's how I got my first Pioneer DEH-9 for $25. Worked fine, blazer it came out of was fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked lol.
-
I feel like this is worth mentioning: whether you use CCA or OFC. Hifonics or DC or Sony. If you have fun and are happy, that's what counts
-
Gaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I heard a song and got myself super psyched to hear it "louder" but remembered I have no bass. First world problems...
-
Did some measuring and some thinking. A bit more measuring. Looks like I should be able to fit a pair of 18s, no wall. May make for a fun rebuild this winter. I want to see what the 12s can do first though

But due to class restrictions, it would be considered a wall LOL. Box wouldn't even come up past the headrest
-
Fuck class restrictions, build a system that makes you happy.
Tell me how a "class" win will make you happier than a great sounding setup.
Everybody needs to stop paying into these bullshit org's that are just there to make money.

Fair point

So my friend's head unit was cutting out at high volume. Stock wiring wasn't enough. 10ga power and ground. Yup that did it. Not excessive at all

like king said, absolutely nothing wrong with using stock wiring for a headunit. Remote is different though, anything more than 2 accesories being ran by the remote and a relay is required IMO
-
While it may have fixed the apparent issue. It doesn't address the issue as a whole system. If your power draw is so great, that it chokes out other electrical in the car, then just imagine how the rest of the factory components like the voltage drop. I wouldn't want to chance my CPU and other important and expensive gear with hard voltage drops.

Had to take the compressor back. Neighbors would whine and moan every time I turned the thing on lol
