I would take that ground out and do a single proper ground to said strut tower. Requires removing one of the outside bolts and boring out the terminal... Sanding and retightening. Good luck sir. -
OP I understand why you did not want to attempt that but if you have a way to bore out the ring terminal to have a larger sized hole then that's best. The strut tower is one of the best places for rear grounding and I myself saw over a 1.5volt difference in voltage drop switching my ground to mine. Its a bit more work but it's all in the pursuit of doing this hobby correctly sir.

Snow has some good info OP. I strongly suggest listening to all he has to say or help with. Dubindodge has an awesome example of why not to ground where you grounded... And self tapping screws are not really a great grounding source. Finally. The strut tower is that thing above the rear or front wheel with 3 or 4 bolts on top of it. It holds the springs and the shocks. Drill out a ring terminal so the hole is big enough. Sand down the area around one of those bolts really good. And ground using that.

Who wants to see a beautiful Mmats custom install in a beautiful hot rod Truck with some very laughable wire job. I was just going to do the big 3 and swap for a singer 320 but it looks like a full 100% sky high rewire is in order.

Summer Heat on amps Winter Cold on subs When you are making smaller connections from amps to batteries and Cut it just a hair too long or short to look perfect next to all your other wires Voltage drop below 12.8 TOO much flex, its cool to watch on other guys cars but its scary on my car because if it breaks its mine.

Well I mean you got n8 Kylar snd snow drifter in this thread. They are all way smarter then me but I don't see why my suggestion wouldn't work logically. And if you have LC1's connected you can easily use the dd1 to find where (-5) would be on your lc1 while turning it up... Make a little mark on it and don't turn it up past that point when your playing decaf. And so on and so forth. Hope that helps.

It might also be useful spot set gains according to your max distortion point on the headunit at those higher levels to satisfy your 80's music... Then leave those gain settings (a LC1 might be helpful here) Then put on the -5db track and with those same gain settings, roll up the volume till you see distortion. Now you have two different max volumes for your two different genre of music that are recorded at different db levels. Snows answers are way better then mine but I believe mine might be useful sir.

some people make me laugh.. when i sat in this guys car it sounded like a 39-40. non sealed off 2 xfl's on a ct1400.1 with no electrical and bad grounds dropping to 11.0 volts. Now he texts me saying that he opened his trunk and is way louder then my car. Which is sealed. Has a better box. Twice the power. Twice the electrical. 120sq feet more deadener. Either i got crazy cancelation or someone is just being silly and over exaggerating.

ill let the meter speak for itself. Honestly I'm hoping for a 148 in the 33-38hz range. Last time i thought it was a 145 it did a 144.8 so I'm pretty sure I'm close. Im just frustrated at ignorance and wanted SMD to calm me down before i sound like an asshole and lose a bass friend because i wanna tell him how dumb he sounds saying he is doing a 148 when he sounded like a 139-140 with most of that being roof rattle while he is playing 50hz.

So he dropped more then 3 db in a hour over text.

Im really at a loss on this subwoofer thing… Not sure exactly whats best. Not sure if i can find some magical rezones that will solve my problem or if i have to hunt down the most ideal subs for my application. I just don't want failures anymore.

Who would you use to recone? I have about 4 people seeing what the best they can put in my XFL so far. Hopefully I get something that works and handles my power. I don't wanna have to get new woofers.

Well I blew a sub at TD. I'm on the fence if I should try to recone with stock XFL and sell. Recone both with tantric. Or sell both as is and try and get c2 threatcon 4

No numbers.. I blew them giving twisted the longest and nastiest 2 12's demo ever. But he made the sour approval face when it hit. Doubt it was too much lows. My coil looked fine. It just unwound. Bighoss can contest for it. He helped me cut it up.

But I was paper tricking and 3" of sunroof flex for twisted for about a 2 minute video. I hope it gets views on YouTube.

Ok everyone. TD update. Who's coming? It looks like it will be COLD (36/25) with minimal precipitation both morning and evening. I will be there for sure assuming i don't find horrible driving conditions. If i do i will be stopping to wait, or turning around. Safety FIRST! Lives are more important then a show.
