You can put your gain on the amp all the way up with no distortion? Never heard or seen that before.Especially if you have everything set right on the deck before you go to tune the amp. I would check all my connections that none are loose. -

The whole clamping is bad only pertains to when you use more than one meter like you do when 'clamping' an amp. You have your clamp jaw for the power wire on the amp, DMM for the voltage on the speaker outputs, DMM for the voltage of your amps power and maybe a clamp for your speaker wires. With all those different meters there will be variations in the results they achieve. Think of it like turn signals on a car. So going off what you said whatever I get with my Extech meter should be accurate? It does all the math for the above and gives you your power output right on the screen.

Alternator output is DC and therefore OK to clamp.
Amplifier output is AC and speakers are reactive (inductive) so the voltage and current from the amp are out of phase by some amount.
Therefore you can't use two separate meters and multiply the peak readings.
Power is an instantaneous measurement, so the voltage and current must be multiplied at the exact same time...or you need to know the phase angle and do the math.
The AD-1 is nice in that it stops measuring at 1%...

Also, i was told, that a "certain" driver was meh in a 4th, but killed a 6th. Im lacking the knowledge, but in for the help

Yeah man reason why I'm asking.I have heard that other woofers wasn't designed for a 4th but they still did well in one.Im putting mine in a 4th and I guess we will find out for sure.

looking @ MSRP $2799 - and there will be some brands being tested but i have to get my test bench loaded with 12, 14.5, and 16v batteries so i can supply a decent amount of power in different voltage situations to the amps. The bench test is great for over all power output testing, but your car and the shitty stock alternator on your 2000 watt sound system, and finding those faults which cause the amp NOT to make its power, and what to do about it, is what the Dyno is about. Well put.This is a tool that every shop owner should invest in.Unless their too busy trying to sell people on BS and push their overrated amps. Either way you guys keep doing what your doing and bringing out the products that are helping to get this industry and sport to the next level.
