alright, So after pages of suggestions heres what I got for a concept woofer for ya, This will be The 8 m3 Its subject to me making some changes here or there if I see its needed but the concept is here and Im now starting the toolings to build the parts for this driver. Dont ask me for specs, Im still working out some details that answers to questions like that will all depend on how certain parts of it turn out. Time for some eye candy.

Goals of the m3 over the m2 * more X-Max * more power handling * more linear soft parts assembly * more ouput * 1 kick ass look =]

Finding the fs of a sub Finding the tuning of a ported box

Ok awesome. The math is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but it would save so much time to just plug in a few numbers and the formulas do the rest for you. I think I may write them into excel myself for the time being. Would be cool if y'all could come up with an iPhone app for the imsg where people could just type them in that way and have the specs right there on your phone. Maybe be able to submit them and have everything that everyone uploads into a searchable database. I know every driver will have slightly different specs, but would be a great reference tool for people to use.

I dont know exactly what I missed, seems like n8 got to is before I woke up. But just to answer what I think was said, Yes 1 m2 8 on 1 1.2k at 1 ohm. Was it getting a full 1200w, I dont know. Now how many of you know EXACTLY how much power your amp is actually putting out at all times? No one should answer that because you dont. Could be anywhere from 400w to 1500w, who knows. I think Tony D has proven to us why our traditional way of clamping an amp doesnt work like we think it does, so I see it as pointless. Now when he releases the AD-1, I will be one of the first to buy one and see just what I am really putting out. But back to my point. If you havent used one of the m2 8s, how can you comment on its performance, much less speculate how the new 8 m3 will perform. Right now it is just a concept that is in Rustys head and on his computer. If any of you know Rusty, he will not put a sub on the market for sale to the public that does not completely live up to his standards. That is good enough for me.

\If we use it the purpose of it is to keep foreign objects out of the gap that's what I figured, i've seen some people use fiberglass insulation instead of polyfill inside their sealed boxes, that shit got everywhere on the subs, especially on the mesh on the basket (VVX 12's) people are known to also not clean out all the mdf dust from there boxes when there finished building them and it get sucked into the motors i'm guilty of that, had to shave the cutout for my new subs, forgot to clean it, got a face full of mdf dust when the first low note kicked in, scared the shit out of me, I had just finished putting vinyl cleaner on my dash so everything got stuck

i can't exactly say i am a mathematician myself... so i personally would like the program as soon as possible too. I got a great man for the job lined up. I don't wanna release the excel spreadsheet program we already have because its not refined enough and of course requires MS Office (for excel). hang tight, this is still a NEW product!

yes...he had one on a dc 1.2k, at lowest he wired at 1 and for sure rose over 2, or he wired at 2 and rose above 4....aka, did not clamp 1.2k on his sub actually im not done. you know what? cody actually runs a 14V system, which means he charges at 16V. which also means, you guessed right! that little 1.2k amp thats rated at 12v or whatever DC rates their product at.. is no longer 1.2k.. but.... (quick trip to the dc website) Direct quote: 1 ohm 16V 1,450W x 1 thats not including what it does over rated.. efficiency.. rise.. etc.. you and i both dont know the specs of codys box, he coulda even fucking free aired it, now cody has been around for a while and has been building shit constantly, his rise could be .5 or around there. he could have a jacked 1.2k amp and it actually puts 2k out. either fucking way, if cody says he put 1.2k to the sub, he put around there, if not more. so i'd pump the breaks a little if i was in your shoes.

I was thinking about it like this The 8" market is huge...if you're going to tool new parts might as well go all out and try to be a front runner

sure, all you have to do is hit "save" on your pc ((or mac) not sure about mac yet)).....because to get the T/S specs, you will need to use the App that is being created for it. You use this tool and punch in the numbers you get and out comes the t/s.... its all in the works! Thank you sir! When can I call dips on one? Was looking into a WT3, but this is much more convenient for my application.

That looks great! I didnt think it would give readouts on the fly like that. Id be interested in this over my Wt3 woofer tester just so I dont have to pull out my computer to find imp curves on boxes.

After some long hours... the final driver design is completed: One cosmetic element that is experimental... vertical logo on magnet boot. Should we do that or the horizontal logos like we are doing now ? This is a HUGE motor... it is larger than the SA-10/12/15 motor. No joke
