  1. All I get from this is that db-r is Sundowns repair shop. So if a Sundown amp gets sent in to db-r, and the user says he tuned with a dd-1, it will not be warrantied. Sundown and db-r are working hard as they can to avoid warranty repairs and make as much money as they can on their customers. Sundown nuthuggers need to wake the fuck up.

  2. nobody fired any shots at Db-r really. There are some that can be sent his way though but his inconsistencies in his stories should say enough.

  3. this just in, no warranty if you used a screw driver to set your gain. DAMN! Time to grow my coke nail.

  5. I'd touching the probes in the most dangerous way possible on the amp cannot blow it. Then I would have to agree. I stated in the thread on Caco: In reality I would put just about anything on the fact there is an error somewhere else in the equation. Whether it be a bad signal from Rcas/HU, bad ground, or just plain old not enough electrical. And let's not forget that db-r has already stated that a lot of the amps in question had a silicone problem in the protection circuit.

  6. guys, just to let you know, i don't think even user error plus DD-1 equals amp failure. The DD-1 is COMPLETELY out of the equation. It is not physically doing any damage. If someone uses a scope, or DD-1, or DMM to set his gains, it is still up to him to have a proper setup to begin with and its always nice to have a reliable product too. I know a few brands that i have seen smoke over and over again over the years and it has NOTHING to do with whether the gain input was matched to the deck output properly. It has to do with reliability of the brand and the user. Its almost like blaming the screw driver for an amp blowing because you turned the gain up a little. I can't think of any way, even if i did it on PURPOSE, how a DD-1 can blow an amp up. Is it possible to stick the probe in the speaker terminal and bend it in a 180, and still reach the case of the amp? I mean if someone did that, i still don't see how its the DD-1's fault.

  7. guys, no matter what i do, no matter what tricks Kyle tries, the site just doesn't STAY fast for more then a day. The other day he did something and it was BLAZING fast...and under 24 hours later, like i predicted, it was back to molasses again. As you might know, when i post something i find interesting to FB and Twitter the site gets hammered HARD. Sometimes over 1000 people looking at one thread. So it really taxes my server. I am now looking into one that is MUCH MUCH better. 2 SSD Drives, tons of storage on a 3rd drive, tons of ram and over all a way better setup. It is going to cost almost double what it costs now but its ok, i just want it to run RIGHT. so stay tuned, i will let you guys know ahead of time when it might go down. I hope this week. Gotta hammer out some details and im just gonna get this started. Then after that i am going to upgrade the forum software to the newest version AGAIN. thanks for your patience and sorry the site has been so damn slow lately! It irritates the SHIT out of me too, trust me.

  8. I am bored and decided to play with a new sweatshirt design and wanted to see if there is any interest. If enough people are interested, I will talk to the bossman and see if I can make it happen. Could do this particular one in S-XXXL Same Design but in a T-Shirt If anyone has any DC logos that you like, please post them up and I will see what I can do with it. Can also do T-Shirts and many other things if there is enough interest and it is ok with Rusty.

  9. You need to learn to understand the situation before commenting; especially if you want to voice your opinion so strongly -- I suggest YOU wake the fuck up if you want to use that language -- the dB-R warranty on HIS repair work has nothing to do with OUR warranty on our product; as I stated on the CACO thread. This deal has nothing to do with Sundown and SMD; dB-R is their own company and repair for many other brands as well. I have no issue with Steve and his products and I can only imagine there is some sort of user error going on with any problems -- Chris has his own opinions and he doesn't work for us or represent our opinions; we pay him to repair our products and he does it well; that is the extent of it.

  12. This whole thing has gotten out of hand...db-r states his warranty issue clearly but is still taking shots at Meade,as a person. There posting pics up of Meade and tony over there, yeah he may say he didn't post it but its up and has been up on their forum. When their forum rules state otherwise. Both forums "I" think are breaking their own rules. The guy(db-r) keeps changing his mind and even went to the point of listing his credentials. And for what? Because Steve said he wouldn't send him his alarm clock? Just like how he states he sticking to his warranty policy Steve can say where he will or will not send his alarm clock...lol! And as much as everyone can keep going back and forth at each other it's all b.s. things like this make the 12 volt industry look crazy and give it a bad name. Grown men arguing over the Internet. Yeah things that are said can be funny,we all have laughed to ourselves when someone is pissed. In all there are company names being mentioned in this whole mess and getting their product bashed,or their company being bashed which is not Kool. Everyone has choices. No one stuck a gun to your head and said buy this "one". You buy what you buy ,willingly. You don't go and bash a product just because it didn't work well for you when it works well for others. Every product also comes with something called "INSTRUCTIONS" they are there for the BUYER,OPERATER to READ!!! To AVOID USER ERROR! Why buy a product worth so much and not know what it's fully capable of and "JUST GUESS",only to blow another product worth more money then start bashing products when it was operator error all along, just because people don't read the user manuals, instructions, etc. All this has gotten way out of hand is ridiculous in my eyes. Not everyone will agree with me either and that's fine. Everyone has their own mind and opinion. Just like the saying goes,"opinions are like a$$hole$,everyone has them". At the end of the day though both places SMD and db-r should clear and clean this up,I dont know both guys (SMD and db-r) but they have their own companies and can be heard and read ea. others comments over the Internet. When people can see one another, and if that's not possible, the phone. Business used to handled in person and if not the person is a phone call away. Db-r also keeps saying im from the "old school", from what i remember old school men handled their situations face to face. Both sides will stand behind their companies, who wouldn't? "I" also see Steve trying to prove his point by buying a sundown amp and test it and even going as far to making a vid to show its not his product blowing the amps. While db-r keeps changing his story it seems and only fueling the fire. I also say all this as just reading the threads on both forums. Idk either side(Steve or db-r)but they are both older than me. Anyone who has more knowledge than me in the 12 volt industry always has my attention as long as your willing to help others learn. Just thought I'd air out "MY" opinion about the situation and it sucks to see company names being brought into a situation and nothing positive being said. It's easy to speak out of anger,we all do it. But companies that are being mentioned like dc audio,sundown,SMD,db-r,& whatever companies db-r mentioned, are getting their names thrown out there over b.s. no one is perfect,no product is perfect. If its built by man it can be destroyed by man...good luck to all companies involved hope it gets handled though...my bad for writing a book f#%kers! And yeah i wrote all this with meade's comment sig'd but that sh!t was funny....I'm out like the burnt amps mentioned....

  17. i took a short glance at that thread again, against my better judgement, and wow, they got some nerve. Talking about how Tony's last job was at Boss and how he only made a shitty amp with lots of caps in it. What a bunch of moron's. Don't forget, Tony AND Juan were both engineers at RF for years. Thats ROCKFORD FOSGATE for those that don't know what RF means. Lets not talk about how the T15k is probably, if not THE cleanest, most powerful class AB car amp ever made. It is a product way ahead of its time and came at the peak of the economy taking a shit. Hence the reason so many at RF were let go. Tony needed a job and got paid very good at Boss. We worked our ASSES OFF to bring this product to market and with the success of it, they were able to quit and dedicate all their time to their own company. We are car audio NUTS and we make products we know others like us will love and we CARE about quality and customer service. After 1 1/2 years of sales, I have 100% ratings on ebay, amazon and also wcCarAudio. If someone's amp blew because of our product we would be ALL OVER IT.... if amps were blowing from the DD-1, after selling WORLD WIDE, to every country on the planet, don't you think we would know about it? I think we would be slightly concerned.

  18. So if the amp blows for users errors while usin a scope, then it's ok?

  26. Which sundown amps?? I can put my finger on a lot of amps my dd-1 and cc-1 has tuned... 5 different Sundown 4500s, some of them multiple times because things in the install have been changed. 2 Sundown NS-1s 1 Sundown 200.4 1 Sundown 100.2 2 Sundown 100.4 and theres probably been more that Im forgetting. All amps still working 100%, and hell I probably have misc videos doing so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Z57r1NsEI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZJAlKetlUY just proof your full of it. I was quoting db-r lol Ok, my bad then.. In that case, as much as I like his quality of amp repairs, DB-r is FULL OF IT!

  27. I know the issue here, and someone hinted at it in a post over on those other forums. They actually referenced one of my threads in their post. The were talking about when i set the gains for a friend here at work. We set his gains with the -5d track with his sub level at max and everything at flat. Turned out he was not as loud as he thought he was. (I tried to explain how -5 was a pretty safe track to use (on music), and even if he clipped a little it wouldn't kill anything, but I didn't want to use -10db cause it was not my equipment and it was to risky) Guess what he did the next day, he set his gains by ear and they were much higher. This is an example of what happens to a lot of people. They find out that 500 or 1k or 1.5k is not as loud as they "think" it should be. So they just turn it up till they can "hear" the distortion and we know that if you can hear distortion from your subs you are way past the point of clipping. There you have it in a nutshell ladies and gentlemen.

  29. db-r, proud supportors of banning things for the users having no common sense. db-r anti dd-1 due to user error, goverment anti gun due to metnaly ill. both want to ban the equipment and ignore the real issue. the fact that they say its the dd-1 because of possible user error discredits their opionin that the dd-1 is junk.
