  1. Yeah, screw 'em. Good thing we (SSA) have nearly 100 SA-8's on the way and we have been with Sundown since day 1. Thanks to the guys with the positive feedback.

  3. I already have the prototypes in my hand but its just a circuit board with protective plastic on it....the metal case should look like this. FYI: Most LOC's are DIRTY DIRT DIRT-MCGIRT.....these will put out 10v clean, non distorted output. We have its sister, the LD-2 (i believe thats the name we settled on but hang tight).....its basicly the same but a LINE DRIVER. Again, MOST line drivers are DIRTY too........ours will be clean 10v out, no distortion.

  4. Yeah looks like they'll be slapping around everywhere, stitching them to the spider yourself? actually they wont do much slapping, if anything, to me they seem stretched out and could use some slack. with 60mm of linear travel (30mm xmax) I think it could rip them and or cause slap. does it have the little cushions on the cone like some drivers do with leads like that? other than that its a very good looking driver, the crinkle coat looks good and the blacked out plates. Looks like zcon with a bigger bumped bottom plate. What's a rough guesstimate on weight? i will let the engineers at AA worry about if it is going to do damage or if it needs the little cushions. Oh, and sorry but the zcon looks like the Havoc not the other way around. This new Havoc looks more like an Xcon than anything else. The Xcon has been out for years now so how can it look like the Havoc? Even if this new Havoc did look like a Zcon, the Zcon has been out for over a year and the Havoc is just being released. Either way, how a subwoofer looks has nothing to do with its performance. To lump two different subwoofers together because they look alike is idiotic.

  5. I copied this from another thread, I think it is something everybody needs a reminder, especially now that so many people are using the DD-1 as well as using it as a defense when members on the forum are telling them they clipped their woofer. The DD-1 is a great tool for the average consumer to set gains consistently and accurately. But, a DD-1 is not an end all solution to never clipping your woofers. Different songs are written at different levels, some include clipping from the start and some don't. It is the users responsibility to be "in tune" with their setup and recognize when they are pushing to hard and adjust. For example, I've watched the man Steve himself alter his levels constantly depending on song and frequency. He had excellant attention to detail, constant monitoring of the health of the setup, and he controlled the system variables. I'm sorry (OP of the thread who blew a woofer) thought this woofer was indestructible and using the DD-1 was definitely a good move now you need to refine these skills by using the DD-1 with the right tones (I used 40hz -10db for my Scope) and constantly improving on how you are controlling the system. -Drew **Remember, woofers and amps are stupid. They only do what they are told and you are the bus driver on this road to DBs**

  7. Time for some this is PURE PROTOTYPE. It probably will have a different color boot (not blue) so it wont look like a DD-1. We are just using the case for testing before stage 2... anyway, on with the

  8. Thats right guys it time for another presale on the ENTIRE amplifier line. from 1.2k-9.0k & the 175.4, the 12ks are not currently in production. This presale will be for 15% off of our regualr quoted prices. To receive this discount, you must pay 50% down at the time you place your order and the other 50% will be due when the amps ship from the factory to us. This presale will run up until the time that the amps are shipped from the factory, so take advantage of it while it lasts! The only thing that I ask, is that you do not post asking for prices on all of the amps, these posts will not be answered, please be specific and we will get a price quote over to you promtly. As usual, please post your shipping zipcode along with the amplifier you are interested in purchasing.

  12. Bill "kingsuv" gets a pass on the little dealer comment i made since he lives 2 miles away and i am essentially his warehouse. I am the west coast distributor so he can get stuff daily from me as well with no waiting. Just thought i would throw that out there. I keep seeing "dealers" for this brand and that brand (not necessarily XS power) over the years and its always someone drop shipping. Nothing wrong with it if you have to but if you ask me, a dealer needs to have an inventory IMO. Seems kinda fake if you don't have any to call yourself a dealer. JMO.

  13. What about iPods?? Everytime there's a vid on a thread it makes the vid really wide for some reason. It makes the thread small like this picture.

  14. I'm pretty sure nobody in this thread has hated on the DD-1. The arguement, is the result of the DD-1 vs a scope and a DMM. As far as I am concerned, a scope and a DD-1 will give you the same result. The only difference, is that with the scope you see the wave soft clip and stop increasing the gain and with the DD-1 the light turns on and you stop increasing the gain. With a DMM you are actually guessing because you are assuming the amp puts out rated and the farther the amp gets away from its rating the more inaccurate your gain setting will be. You are the bus driver on the road to Dbs be careful and understand that shit happens with or without a DD-1 or Scope. -Drew Very well said. -notDrew

  17. we are in the process of tooling a front plastic tinted face for it. That will be available soon so if you don't make one yourself, hang tight we will have one!! we pushed it out WITHOUT the faceplate because it was due in March but we didn't hit the deadline.....so i decided to release the raw units now. I am hoping the faceplate will be around $10. In the meantime, a piece of lightly smoked acrylic and a creative install should make this thing look killer!

  27. only thing I can add is very simple, follow the instructions they were written for a reason. Just like anything else people will try to skip a step here and there and then turn around and blame the DD-1 for their fuck ups.

  28. 24 out of 32 is a pretty dirty Alpine IMO. also, i never said you WOULD get a 161 i just said What IF. We never claim anyone will gain DB even though we see it all the time i dont get how its dirty? after vol. 23 yes it distorted but everything under that is as clean as you can get if it was a drity deck there would not be countless sq champs that run alpine decks like the one im talking about if you mean its a drity deck if you try to use it at full volume i can understand that but to call the deck drity because you have a point of distortion is not right remeber people listen to ever word you say so with that statment people will be running around calling alpine decks drity when thats not the case anyways we are of topic now my questions were anwsered thanks holy st*t bro are you on one today? settle down LOL goddamn. 23 out of 32 is distorting way sooner then most of the Alpines i have seen so either you'r numbers are off or that deck is dirty SOONER then it should be for some reason. If your numbers are right and 23 is in fact the number, then i'm sure its nice and clean from 23 down. Never meant it was a dirty deck from top to bottom, just dirtier at a lower volume then some of the worst decks i have tried. I had a $99 Kenwood that didn't distort till 33/35 iirc. It doesn't by a LONG SHOT mean thats a better deck though. its an older alpine the newer ones do in fact distort at way higher volumes like 28 of 32 not mad or trying to be a dick or anything sorry if im coming off that way just trying to have an audio convo ive actually learned a couple things here hahah word up bro. Thanks for your input we are all sorta learning together. All i ask from people is we keep it cool because at the end of the day most of us are friends outside of the internet (like me and you).

  29. or maybe he is tired of seeing people diss on the product because it has my name on it. (not neccessarily people here, but in general) i bet 2/3rds of the haters would be on board if it was JUST D'amore on it. 100% of the people who hate me have NO reason to hate me and people that like me are just as sick of seeing it. Well i take that back, out of the 100% who don't like me, some already didn't like me (for no reason) and talked some shit........then when i say something back to them, they REALLY hate me. I can't think of one thing i did to anyone FIRST to deserve some of the negativity i get.

  30. they didn't really show how it works, i wonder if they will have something in there that takes the DECK into consideration or this could be just another fancy clip light. Looks promising for them though. Good thing there is millions and millions of amps in the world that don't have that and millions more that won't have it......so the scope and the DD-1 don't have to worry any time soon. By then who know's, we may have the DD-4 out........or better yet, someone might buy our technology to PUT in the amp itself. We won't be out of business any time soon, there is too many shops out there that don't even know what a scope is and have never set a gain properly EVER, and i am witnessing (by the sales figures) a lot of them that NOW are doing just that. For the first time ever, they are not using their ears to set gains. Pretty sad i have seen it over and over again where they don't even have a scope and wouldn't know what to do with it even if they had one. Now, they are doing it right and with almost no learning curve. anyway, maybe ill buy one of those amps and see how it matches up to the DD-1. Looks cool actually.

  31. would be nice if it could adjust what people think are cool at that time as well. Have like a whats cool setting.. run amps at .5 and will even switch logo's with what ever amp is cool at the moment! Tony D get to werk

  32. Well maybe one day they will come out with a smart amp that will adjust for clipping on the fly no matter what frequency it is at.

  33. Never said it was a bad decision. You just should have know the rest of the story. I gave him 600 for it. Posted it as my own and then you said I was a liar and he wanted it back after. So I sold it back to him. And its not that I need to sell it or that I'm desperate for cash its that I don't want to have a shit ton of stuff in my garage when I'm not using it and some one else could. And if your against that I have my stuff posted somewhere else if he deletes those adds can I have my selling rights back? And I'm not a shady person. Yes I'm young but not shady remember when you were young and your parents told you no and you kept back talking because you couldn't accept the fact that they were right and even if they weren't it didn't matter because they were the authority? That's the situation your in buddy so just drop it and move on because n8 made his decision and thats final.
