Ive got my eye on a pretty nice looking Road King actually
Im diggin the baggers
-
Something like that is next on my list.Got to get a quad first though

Good time yesterday at the MECA/IASCA event. Truck is still getting louder and also set a record in PnP for AZ/NV
- Show previous comments 9 more
-
PnP 135.7 but started at a 136.x and my window rolled down on me LoL. Mod 5 was a 159.1
-
nice score
-
Thanks man. Both were an increase over my last scores.
-
So you got 8 total 1/0 runs from your 270amp alternator to the rear? Why?
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
Im not the expert but I have 2 runs in my Avalanche per alternator and that was with CCA wire. Now I'm switching it out with OFC.
-
if you can only produce 270 amps thats really all the wire you need to support it.
-
Ok. Thanks guys. I'll keep that in mind.
-
Its that time of the year people. I know everybody got some plans for that Tax Return. So what's your plans?
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
Its what happens when you pay extra all year and claim zero...somewhat of a forced savings..money I missed out in paychecks. Most going to eliminate debt before I leave next month
-
Orion I'm surprised you dont get a big return..being married is the only reason mine is larger..last year I got about 900 or so back
-
When me and the wife first got married, our return was usually around $1100. Being Mil to Mil made it hard for us to get anything back once we made rank. Until we had our daughter.

10k on 12v different than 10k on 16v? Opinions GO
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
different from a supporting electrical system perspective. not different at the meter. xxx watts = xxx watts .
-
Status = asking a question
-
Unless you have really good electrical,It's probably better to look at amps that show ratings at 12v.
- Show previous comments 7 more
-
i look for ones that rate them at 6.8
-
RF rates my T2500.1bd @ 2500watts, 12v. I like that they tell me how much power it makes @ 14.4 also. Just like all their amps, you get what you pay for and even MORE once the car is running.
-
Yep Rockford's CP amps are monsters.I just noticed that most show rated power at 14.4v instead of 12v. This is just one more thing I wanted to take into account when selecting amps for my next setup.
-
I got an empty truck and about 29cuft to play with Hmmmmmmm?

Not trying to use nowhere near that many speakers.I was thinking maybe 4 15's on 2 9k's or 4 18's if I can give them the proper space
-
4 Level 5 15s on a pair of 9ks would be very nice!
-
Yeah the 5's and 6's are on my list.I will know for sure once I get the specs on the new Fi subs.
-
My alternators are out for delivery.Their coming back from DC Power getting externally regulated and also I have the new Quad Alt bracket coming with them. Now to get this wire situation straighten out
- Show previous comments 7 more
-
*scrolling through SMD, see 'Quad Alt bracket'*
You've got my attention lol
-
I got pictures now LoL!!!
-
Pictures posted in my build log for those that want to see the goodies
-
Is it a reason most people choose 15's over 18's besides the space issue?
- Show previous comments 6 more
-
yea tell that to people like steve running 4 18s and their response time is fine... maybe in sq but spl?
-
ACUTALLY, bigger cones will distort less than smaller cones, period. The whole "slow" thing is a myth. You have 50+ lb motors will tons of strength so why would they have trouble moving an 18" paper cone?
-
i wouldnt call it a myth. but back int he day the motor wasnt strong enough to drive the cones like it is now. You could hear a difference between woofer sizes. ITs the whole tens are tighter thing. of course its no longer the case iether.
-
Finally made E-6 today. For those that dont know its a military rank and a hard one to get.
- Show previous comments 6 more
-
Thats not funny at all and sorry to hear that. Were you EOD?I knew you were prior military but wasn't sure what branch and what happened?
-
Army. EOD escort mission. Last humvee in line, IED buried in the asphalt blew up right under the front bumper. Few more feet would have been lights out. I have to laugh at it. Try and get all the schools you can, get that 7 in a couple years.
-
Damn man thats jacked up.I have 3 classes left to get my CCAF and then I start my bachelors.Been slacking lately but hopefully I can make 7 in 2 years if I keep my same scores from this year should make it off the TIG and TIS.
-
Just say no to clamping huh? So what about clamping alternators? Is that still okay?
- Show previous comments 6 more
-
The whole clamping is bad only pertains to when you use more than one meter like you do when 'clamping' an amp. You have your clamp jaw for the power wire on the amp, DMM for the voltage on the speaker outputs, DMM for the voltage of your amps power and maybe a clamp for your speaker wires. With all those different meters there will be variations in the results they achieve. Think of it like turn signals on a car. If you and your friend turn them both on at the same time, for awhile t...
-
So going off what you said whatever I get with my Extech meter should be accurate? It does all the math for the above and gives you your power output right on the screen.
-
Alternator output is DC and therefore OK to clamp.
Amplifier output is AC and speakers are reactive (inductive) so the voltage and current from the amp are out of phase by some amount.
Therefore you can't use two separate meters and multiply the peak readings.
Power is an instantaneous measurement, so the voltage and current must be multiplied at the exact same time...or you need to know the phase angle and do the math.
The AD-1 is nice in that it stops measuring at 1%...

Anybody running install bay fuses? I got some 300amp ones and they have a solid core as oppose the the wavy strip my Knu fuses had. Anybody else has 300amp fuses with a solid core?
- Show previous comments 6 more
-
I've seen the solid type burn up, but never pop and lose continuity.
-
I will have to load them to PB but I can.Im just wondering who has what and if there really is a difference.
-
I'd like to find out also.
Someone should make a thread about it.
-
If anybody on here is contacted by RodeoSport about buying something from you, be aware that it sounds like he's trying a scam to have you ship it to someone in the states and he wants to pay with bank transfer. Beware!!!!!!!!
- Show previous comments 6 more
-
Mac just so you know if his address is not confirmed your not covered.Just because you put the money into your bank account doesn't mean Paypal wont keep after you and freeze your paypal account until they collect the money back.If you do decide to go through with it be aware that they do send fake Paypal emails saying they paid when they didnt so make sure you check your paypal by going directly to Paypal and not through the link in the email to see if the money is really in your account...
-
also if paypal is linked to your account, they can just the money back without letting you know i believe
-
ok thanks, yeah I will take caution if I do decide to sell to him. Most likely not now. Thanks for the heads up guys.

Your build was one of the reasons I decided to run Teams.....looking forward to whatever is coming!
-
hmm! very interesting!
-
The Teams are awesome subs and have been doing me very good. Once I get a good start on the Van I will start another build log.
-
Vans? What do people consider the best years for Astros when it comes to SPL?
- Show previous comments 5 more
-
LoL Kev Im heading to AZ right now to see what I can get my hands on
-
I had a 95, it was the newer body style but old dash. 94, old style old dash. 96 new style new dash. I like the new style exterior wise....
-
Vans got gobs of room would love to go back to one but they stopped making Astros (i think) fuck it. idk
-
Who can guess if I gained or loss by putting the BTL's back in? Now how much of a gain do you think?
- Show previous comments 4 more
-
The BTL's obviously must have a stronger motor.Unless you guys know something I don't about the PSI subs then the quality wasn't a problem because they took a beating for quite sometime.Im not the speaker expert but I would think the motor made the difference.
-
PSI isn't "shit", they just aren't on that Fi/AA level.
-
That's kinda harsh.School me because I haven't heard anybody complain about them and I see alot of people using their recones. We all know FI makes great products but lately its been hit or miss with them.
-
Who in here have tested their setup with and without fuses and what was the difference?
- Show previous comments 4 more
-
The difference is you can start your car on fire without them. If you want a flaming car then I say leave the fuses out.
-
Questions not for me but last I checked you can start your car on fire with fuses. I have seen multiple times where the fuses didn't blow when either a wire arced or an overcurrent condition happened and started a fire.
-
most likely too high fuses.
I normally run under what I actually need so if the least little thing happens, blown fuse. I'd much rather replace fuses than burn up equipment or vehicle.
-
Man working 2230-0730 sucks donkey ballz!!!

No, I work at a paper mill. Was gonna go USAF but found out if you have asthma they dont want you.
-
Yeah Im Air Force and I heard that before but I have met people who have asthma and still in some how. I think they lied on their App and then just brought it up later in their career.
-
Called a medical waiver. Prior USAF here. Anywho, working 0800-1600 (typically) then 2200-0600. Mon-Fri. What's up? And you were saying?

I know alot of you dont like JP but I have to say that demo he gave Exo on I Cook slowed is by far the best I have seen so far.

oh.. you mis took..
I wouldnt join a team for money and blow jobs... i ment something else...

I guess I did but replying "I want in" means you want on the team. As for the money and blow jobs, that went right over my head as too what exactly that was suppose to mean
-
In, to see what and how...
Thats all, and NO more..... Enjoy, great luck, and have fun.... Ill sit in the corner.

Just remembered I sold my DD-1 to an Italian this weekend since they can't get them.So now I need to find another one
- Show previous comments 3 more
-
Aren't these guys one of the dedicated UK suppliers for the dd-1 over there? http://www.bladeice.com/
-
box they'll have to vat twice if they order through them
-
vat twice? Italy and the UK are in the EU so no import duties apply
-
Why is it that when I order a battery directly from XS the box comes in perfect condition but when I order from sonic it looks like sombody been playing soccer with the damn battery. At least the batteries are okay but boxes are fudged
- Show previous comments 3 more
-
Had that same problem with my last order. Box was beat to hell, everything inside was fine.
-
I dont think its the shi[pping company, I think thats the way it comes from sonic cause the box thats on the outside has been fine both times
-
Mine came in two really big boxes taped together with a metric shit-ton of tape. So yeah, I'm betting it came from sonic like that. But it was also slam packed with packing peanuts.

Skyhigh car audio?

It wouldn't let me post in their section. Did something happen I need to know about before I try to spend my money with them
