#008 Arrived safely! Just a quick test to play with the dyno on 1 DC 7.5k. Test was done on battery power only and the batteries have not been charged in 8 months. Not too shabby.

If you happen to have a clamp meter can you toss it on? I'd love to see the current consumption on these.

The wire used in the dual inputs is 1/0 welding wire. It is comparable to 2awg. I will be re running every test using single and dual 1/0 Shca and single and dual 2/0 Shca.

the amp dyo will test the output on the amp based on whatever power source you have to give it (the amplifier). It can be a best case, worst case scenario dependent on what you have on hand. And what is on hand is usually dependent on your bank account. For right now I believe the amp dyno is so new everyone is testing on benches to see if what amp manufacturers are claiming is true. Give it some time and we will see these tests migrate to in car amplifiers running. The we can say Amp X did XXXX output on battery Y and Alternator Z while in a Make Model of car. i think there is one video like that floating around.

I just tested one of my DC Audio 3.5k amps. Test was done using 7 XS Power D1400s for a battery bank. I tested Certified, Un Certified, and Dynamic at 1ohm and .8 ohm. 1 ohm Test. Certified UnCertified Dynamic .8 ohm test Certified UnCertified Dynamic

My biggest hang up is the bs made up ratings. If buy a car with a 465hp rated motor & discover it's really 325hp....yea I'd be pissed off.

Haha... had something similar done a few months back, my lil lump was on the back of my neck. Never hurt, but everyone complained that it looked weird so Fk it. Had to go. I think they said it was Lipoma. I remember them rolling me back to the room, I did a few deep breaths and next thing I knew I was waking back up in the little curtain room when I got prepped for everything, all done and ready to go. I dont have the time to test every amp at all voltages, but I will definitely play with a few different ones to see what happens. To test in my truck I have to have some help though unless I set up a podium, hmm that sounds like a pretty good idea.

Will test cert, un cert and dynamic again when I run the final tests. I just wanted to play with it when I did this and I knew the Dynamic wouldnt be as tough on the batteries.

I'm going to be the first to do this but being that it is a certified test and from what I hear, no first hand experience, is that DC amps are damn good but I'm going to guess (-113 watts)that is negative or under That is still damn close to rated but I am just going to go with it.

As Steve says at the end of the video.. Dynamic Burst IS still RMS and is more representative of what you will get while playing music. Most of us don't drive around listening to 30hz test tones all day lol. I have the BRZ-2100 and I got it for $240 shipped. Currently running it at .5 ohm on crappy electrical and it is still taking the abuse. That 1700W rated amp did almost 1800W RMS and people still hate on it lol. If you are buying Hifonics to compete you are probably doing it wrong. If you are buying an amp to do rated power on music, doesn't seem to far off to me.

Ordered my AD-1 today!! I have a nice stash of amps to test...man it's gonna be fun, but I'm sure my 250A power supply will be a big limiting factor. That's cool, most of my old school amps consume well under 250A. Steve, if you see my AD-1 before it ships, please sign it. If not, that's cool, I'll just have you in the OSS labs / museum one day and you can do it then
